    This lens is a bargain (I paid $149). Great fast focusing for still. Not so great for video. Nikon needs to need to put stepper motors in all their lenses.

    I bought this lens hoping it would come in handy on my crop sensor D3300 when I first got it. I quickly realized the focal length wasn't really something I would use, and when I upgraded to my D7200 with the 18-140mm lens kit, it pretty much did away with me using this lens at all. I would say it's a great lens for a beginner just starting out, but you will quickly realize you want to upgrade to a longer focal length or something with a bigger aperture.
