I've been using this lens with my D3300, and like it a lot. It's powerful zoom really helps long shots. The total range is impressive -- 55mm is very different than 300mm. I've mostly used this lens outdoors for landscapes or kids games. It's performed well on both still and action shots.

Very happy with my new lens. It does what it is supposed to do and takes pictures a long distance away. The pictures look like I was right there, they are clear and very crisp pictures with excellent color. Please buy a filter to protect your lens. Much easier to spend the $20 on a filter than buy a whole new lens if something happens.

I found a couple of reviews online about this Nikon lens and decided it was a good price for a good buy. I needed a lens for the camera I had just purchased and this one worked great for the pictures I took on my trip! Highly recommend it to any Nikon lover!

Owned this product for a few months now, so far so good! I love using this lens on my camera! Picture quality is so much better especially when taking long distance shots. Would recommend to anyone! The price is great for this kind of product. Worth every penny for the benefits of better pictures, especially when living in AK.

Love this lens! It has the basic 55mm which is what I usually shoot at, and at the same time without changing lens, I can zoom in to get more details. This lens also has the VR setting which is helpful in low light. Nikkor makes excellent lenses

I love being able to zoom in and not lose any clarity!! Never thought I would spend so much on a camera but I don't regret it for a second! With a kid in sports, I am so happy not to have to choose between zooming in and clarity any longer!!

I bought this zoom lense with my new nikon DSLR camera . I got a very good deal for this lense . This lense is absolutely fantastic regarding zoom and clarity at highest zoom point . Nikkor lense are truly uncomparable !!!

I purchased This lens to allow me to take better sports shots of my kids. I'm only an amateur photographer at best. This is easy to use, takes super pictures and has enhanced my camera function as a great addition.

This lens gets me the zoom I need for most of my outdoor photos-lakes, mountains, etc. You do not lose quality in the zoom which makes this lens invaluable.

I've had my camera for a few years and always thought about getting different shots and closer shots. It was expensive, but worth it for the great shots. I purchased it on a vacation to use for those pictures. I've now used it at home and plan to take it on an upcoming trip. I'm returning to a vacation spot from last year and will be interested to see pictures with the zoom. (years ago I had a zoom, but the camera was stolen - that lens was very heavy - this lens is much lighter and easier to use)

I know it's twice as much but it's well worth it. I took about 150 shots with it this weekend and was blown away. Bokeh is beautiful and it is sharp from 55-300mm. I had the 55-200mm VR and this is a significant step up. It's more solidly built and the results are excellent. It's a huge lens, and heavy, but the shots speak for themselves. Great, great lens!

I had been looking for a larger telephoto lense. I have been using a 70-200mm and it was ok. This 300 runs circles around it. Clarity, sharpness and ease of use. I am using the lense mostly for sports photography. The 200 didn't get me on the field. The more I zoomed the more grain you saw in the photos. The 300 night and day better. I had been looking at more expensive lenses but for the money this is a Best Buy. Great lense, great price.

This lens is great for most all of your shooting a really good quality average zoom lens ,not to big and handles nicely it is not over sized or heavy

Purchased as an addon to the D5500 to provide some reach beyond the standard 15-55mm kit lens. Very happy with the performance thus far. Focus is fast enough for my needs which is typically landscape/wildlife photography. Lens feels very solid and comes with a decent felt drawstring bag for storage. Lens hood is a bit flimsy feeling and I've elected to run without it so far. Vibration reduction appears to be working well with clear photos shot in hand.

I got this 55-300mm lens when I bought the camera so I got a price break which helped tremendously. I have been able to achieve some fantastic shots with the use of this lens. Hand held shots that are clear with no blur are to be expected. After a month of use I can say this was a very wise purchase for me.

This is my everyday carry lens. Great for that unplanned photo. If you are going to be shooting at the long end you must use a tripod for the bsst image. Excellant value for a great performer.

I received this product as part of a package deal. I cannot say i went wrong with this investment. This lens is easy to use and brings everything right to you as clear as can be. Great optic.

the lens is very easy to use also to hook up to your camera.once hooked up operation is very simple.the lens gives a great picture and allows the user greater flexibility of view choices. Purchased this at the same time I purchased my Nikon D3300. Really like the zoom. Still learning how to really use it to its max.Attached is a photo taken of the moon. Yes there are was a lot of cropping, however the image its self is true. Very happy with the lens
