Bought a Nikon D3200 w/ 18-55 lens and knew I wanted an extra lens with greater focal lenght. Most zoom lens are of the 70-210 focal lenght and I wanted something a little more. Several package deals offered that type of lens. I found the 55-300 zoom with auto focus and VR reduction on sale. This size lens met what I needed so I added it to my purchase. I've only used this lens a few times already just getting familiar with the camera and lens and I've been very happy. The lens is easy to use. VERY smooth zoom ring and quiet. The auto focus is very fast. This lens comes with a lens hood that is very easy to attach and remove thanks to the push buttons on it that lock it on the lens barrel. You can even reverse it when not needed to attach to the lens for easy access.. Recommend to any one buy any camera lens to make sure to purchase the UV filters for all you lens to protect them from scratches. A $15.00 filter is cheaper to replace than a $300 or more lens, well, for me anyway. I recommend checking out this lens. For my purpose and price it was the best lens for most of my applications in photography.

Wonderful lens to take pics of wrestling from the stands. It did it's job and I have no complaints. Easy to use and change from other lens.

I have really enjoyed using this lens. Creates great shots and is very versatile with the dynamic range. Only down side is the size. The lens is a bit bulky to be packing and carrying around. Overall, the size and weight is worth packing it in my bag and I'm pleased with my purchase.

This camera is great. If I was a beginner, it would be easy to.handle, adjust or work with. I am.so please with it and it's capabilities.

Does a good job for the price. Would like a lower f/stop, but then wouldn't everybody?

This is my favorite lens when I use it with a polarized lens on it. Great for taking pictures at gatherings to get good natural shots.

Light weight and easy to use telephoto zoom lens for beginner photographer. Very affordable, especially with the holiday offer of $200 off MSRP with the purchases of a Nikon camera.

I wanted to be able zoom in closer to things in a distance. This is great still in a good price before you start to pay for lens. So if you want a 300mm this is a great lens.

I love the zoom on this, makes a lot of classes my children do easy to take pictures of. I can get a good picture even far away. :)

Zoom lens is a must for me! Love it. Easy to change and put on camera. Stores well in my bag with my camera. Comes with a protective cloth bag all its own to store in as well.

This is by far one of my favorite lens. It is also set at a very good price. I would highly recommend this to every beginner photographer who is looking to own a telephoto lens.

This lens is the next step in the 18-55 focal length of the lens that came with the camera. Produces wonderful pictures.

Hello, opinion from a NO-EXPERT / NON-PRO / GETTING-INTO / PHOTOGRAPHY-IS-AWESOME / regular person.... I recently upgraded from very entry level DSLR (canon) to the D7200 (nikon). I bought this lense to go with my body-only camera. I wasn't expecting it to perform like the hi-tech pro lense, but better than what i was used to in my KIT lense with the entry level canon. to be honest, didn't blow me away. Of course pictures were good and better than the old camera, just looking at the MP, its double!, good photographer or not, this make a noticeable difference, but something was missing. went to best buy and talked with the "camera section" guys, actually took my equipment and shot around the store with them. it performed as it should, according to "them", no argument there. they gave me awesome tips and advise. returned the lense for another one (70-300), which i will review after this.

Really love this lens. Got it with new Kodak 5300 SLR and really like the results I'm getting. Pictures look great

I was hesitant at first to spend that amount of money of a lens, but definitely worth the expense! The Nikon Nikkor 55-300mm is a perfect compliment to my D5300!

This lens is sharp even at wide apertures, the VR (image stabilization) works great, autofocus speed is more than acceptable, and it it is very light and compact.

I am very glad I included this lend in my purchase. I am using it the most of the 3 I bought. Gets nature close up.

I purchased this lens to go with my Nikon 3100. My camera came with the standard 18-55mm but I always had problems getting long shots such as at the kids concerts and speaking engagements. This lens is really great for that. I used it at Christmas time and I loved it. Can't go wrong with this lense.
