I've only had this lens a month, and I haven't taken it off my D 7100 since I got it. It's a little heavy, but works perfectly for shooting cosplayers in tight convention quarters. It's sharp, focus is spot on, distortion is manageable. I'm happy.

The auto focus is fast, pretty silent, and sharp. The lens is expensive but worth it if you do a lot of photography. The main negative I would have is that it is heavy. The f 2.8 is awesome you can really tell a difference in low light.

Bought this lens for shooting college basketball and softball. Already owned a Nikon - ED AF-S VR-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8. These two give me good range to shoot from under one basket and get close-up shots and also from the same position get good coverage of the action on the other end of the court.

I wanted to update my kit lens and I couldn't have made a better choice! I never take this lens off. Works well in low lightening. Crystal clear photos

Great lens for my D80

This lens was a wise investment for my D80. Takes great pictures both inside and outside. Pictures quality elevated even further with a greater understanding of my camera's manual controls and a controlled lighting system. When I purchased this lens I had no idea that I would ever upgrade to a FX camera. Again, its a great lens for my D80, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't work well with my D700. I now understand why the 24-70mm, f/2.8 is much more expensive.
