Super sharp lens. Great for compact indoor locations as well as landscape photography. Super fast auto-focus. A bit on the heavy side. Build quality is great.

I started a real estate & architectural photography business about 8 months ago. One goal is to show as much of a room in a single photo as possible, and this requires an Ultra-wide zoom lens with a focal length of 17mm or less. I have tried several lenses meeting this criteria, lenses from Canon, Tamron and even an Olympus MFT lens of nearly identical specs (translated to MFT format, of course) and the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 is by far the best of the bunch. About the only improvement it could use is image stabilization, then it would have everything. But I shoot nearly 100% on a tripod, so I don't really need it. Most of the lenses in this focal length have big bulbous front elements, which have a few disadvantages including unwanted lens flare. This is where the Nikon amazes the most. It does flare a little when the sun is in the shot or slightly outside, but the others flare far more & far more easily. The Olympus is the worst in this aspect, it gave me flares from interior lights, making the whole shoot look like a JJ Abrams film. None of the others did this.
The Canon 11-24 f4 is it's only worthy competition, but the corresponding Canon cameras are not as capable as my Nikon D810, so at $2700 ($1000 more than the Nikon 14-24), it's ultimatly a lesser package.
These lenses aren't for everyone. They take terrible snapshots & portraits, and require a but of knowledge in order to keep perspective distortions at bay due to the wide angles, but if you have the need, you cannot go wrong with this lens.

This is as sharp a lens at this zoom range as is available for Nikon. While it is just a bit heavy the build quality is enough to make up for that. The biggest downfall to this lens is that it does not have a built in filter holder and the front lens cap is very large due to the convex front element. Overall, I am very happy with this lens.

This review is my experience with Best Buy, I bought my Nikon D 850 previously with 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8, I had an excellent experience. Now when I was ready to purchase 14-24 f2.8 I went back to them.
The attention to detail and customer service is above and beyond. Edwin is a very knowledgeable and courteous associate who is an asset for any company!
Highly recommended lens from a great store!
The lens is very well reviewed by various authors in the past in the word of Ken Rockwell
“ The 14-24mm is sharper in the corners at f/2.8 than anything. It's so good, it's crazy to those of us who know how difficult it is to do this. The 14-24mm is sharp all over at every aperture. It's a little softer at f/2.8 at 14mm in the far corner of an FX frame, but it's as insanely good at Nikon's MTF curves claim. No other ultra-wide comes close. The 14-24mm is as free from dark corners and as sharp wide-open as my 14mm AF is at f/5.6!”

This lens is one of my favorites. Great in low light and fast!! Amazing for astro photography, events, architecture/real estate, landscapes etc. it's a little on the pricy side but you definitely get what you pay for. No complaints performance wise. Easily one of my favorite lenses. Using on a full frame Nikon (D750).

This lens is quite expensive, but worth it. It's one of my go-to zoom lenses that I use for traveling. However, you need to be a somewhat advanced photographer to be able to notice the difference between a basic wide angle lens. This lens works great in low-light and panoramic situations.

Ultra wide. Not as sharp as many other lenses and the edges are bad however, if you need that ultra wide angle this is you ticket. If you're going z mount camera get the newer z mount lens because it's much sharper and much lighter.

This is a high end Nikon lens. Paired with a Lee filter system, this lens is unstoppable! I use it with a D750 and the pictures are tack sharp. It's a must have lens that will deliver quality shots time and time again. It is heavy, keep that in mind.

I live in Alaska with huge wide open spaces and Northern Lights (aurora). I have used lesser quality lens like the Tokina 16-28 F2.8 on my D800 and was pleased until a friend of mine showed me his Nikkor 14-24 F2.8. What a difference. The build quality is similar but the glass is by far better in the Nikkor. I was frustrated with the Tokina shooting wide open during aurora storms and getting soft edges and "coma- elongation of stars" in the corners. With the Nikkor 14-28, that problem is long gone. The lens is sharp from corner to corner and the dreaded coma is minimal. I can't wait for the aurora season to pick up. This is one of nikons flagship lenses that every aurora chaser should have in there arsenal.

This one is a must have for the line of your lenses. It is much better than ones made by third parties. But it costs a lot more.
