All the other reviews on how good this lens are correct. I was in a dilemma on which wide angle lens to chose and went thru many reviews online. I had narrowed done my choices to the highly rated Tamron 15-30 2.8 or this lens. I choose this for the following: Ability to use 77mm filters The extra reach to 35mm I shoot mainly outdoors in good light This is a wonderful lens and you will not be disappointed. You just have to ask yourself what and where you shoot..

Love how wide an angle it gives me. I wish it went all the way to 14mm, but it overlaps with my next lens (28-300mm) if I know I'm shooting wide, this has a decent range and flexiblility.

Im just a beginner, but the lens is well made. Though not like my lenses that are 20 years old. But the weight is not too bad. It is very nice for a single lens outing. Im happy with the purchase.

Maybe it's not the best wide-angle lens of Nikon, but it's the most valuable one.

I read some reviews before purchasing and, they were all positive. The lens is great, and I am very happy with the purchase. I mainly shoot landscapes on my D800E, the results are fantastic, and it accepts threaded filters. Make sure to use low profile filters if you are going to use them to prevent vignetting.

This lens is a great option if you can't afford a Nikkor 14-24mm. It's sharp and light; I've been taking pretty decent architecture pictures.

    best ultrawide zoom out there

This is Nikon's best and sharpest ultrawide zoom, even better than the beastly 14-24mm. It is sold out and backordered everywhere. The sale price is excellent and you should get yours before they sell out!

Not a DX lens, this is FX

This is my first ultra-wide lens, and I paired it with my Nikon D800. The VR worked well to minimize handshake, so I was free to use it in low light conditions. Lots of distortion can be seen when viewing an unedited photo, but this is easily corrected in Lightroom or Photoshop. You should know that even though this is advertised as a DX lens, it is clearly not. This a very effective FX lens with some vinetting at 16mm. Sadly I returned this lens in favor of a 14-24mm instead. I wanted to get that extra 2mm and also complete my trinity set (24-70, 70-200).
