Customers love the outstanding image quality and impressive zoom capabilities of the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Super Telephoto Zoom Lens. The fast focus speed and effective Vibration Reduction are also frequently praised, along with the lens's reach and value for its price. However, some find the lens to be large and heavy.

This lens is phenomenal! It is built to last as you can tell by how heavy it is. The zoom and focus ring are sturdy, and the buttons on the side of the lens are nice and stiff so they do not move around unintended. The lens crystal clear and great for wildlife photography.

Nice bokeh on bird photography. A bit on heavy side but nice and firm grip. Using it with a D750. Good autofocus.

The long focal length of this lens along with the VR (vibration reduction) makes this a great lens for capturing some very nice close-ups of eagles, deer and other wildlife that's hard to capture. Putting this on my backup DX format camera and this becomes a 750mm lens.

I had to pick between either upgrading my lens or upgrading the body (currently own a D3400). This was most definitely the better choice of the two. Fantastic sharpness and build for the price. A monopod or tripod is recommended.

So excited to use this lens! I did some test shots to see how far away I could get a decent shot of something. I focused on a hummingbird that was on the top branch of a tree in my yard and it turned out great!

I use this lens together with a Nikon D500 and they are the perfect match for each other. The image quality is amazing and sharp. It has great autofocus. The image stabilisation is great. This is my primary lens for wildlife photography. It's a must buy if you have a Nikon D500!

This lens is fantastic! I haven't had an opportunity to try it out on anything really good yet, but just a quick test, it can read a license plate two blocks away. The autofocus is very smooth and quiet.

This is by far the best value Nikon offers in the super telephoto range. Excellent sharpness through the entire range. Is it as sharp as the 600mm f/4? No. But it doesn't cost $12,000, either. I highly recommend getting one of these. Best Buy has them. B&H Photo has them on backorder.

Bought this for my wife as a Christmas present. She loves to photograph birds especially birds of prey. She absolutely loves this lens because it allows her to zoom in on hawks soaring hundreds of feet away. She has since opened a print etsy shop for her photographs and has received positive reviews!

I have been taking photographs with slur's for approx. 14 years and have to say the I am truly impressed with this lens. Even wide open at 500mm it is outstanding. Very close close to what I was seeing out of my 70-200 f2.8 and better than my 100-300 f4 Sigma which was a great lens. Well worth the money

I am learning to use this lens with my D7100 Nikon camera, Haven't had a lot of time for that but I am making opportunities. I was blessed with this as a gift for Christmas from my family. I am hoping to get great photos of wildlife as well as many other things.

For extreme zooms, wildlife, sports lens this lens is as sharp as it gets, for a zoom. Just by dollars per pound when I compared to other lens the Nikon is much more substantial. The other factor is the fact that in the rare occurrence that this lens needs service, parts are available from Nikon.
