Customers frequently mention the outstanding image quality and useful zoom capabilities of the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm lens. The focus speed, vibration reduction, and price are also appreciated features. However, some customers have noted the lens's weight and size as potential drawbacks. Despite these concerns, the lens appears to be well-received overall.

May want to consider getting a tripod with it. You can get great photos with out one but this is a heavy lens. Excellent photos. Have used for landscapes also

I haven't had a chance to use this lens yet. What little I have used it for has been good. It is heavy, and I am on the lookout for a new monopod to assist.

Has taken great, crisp photos thus far. The weight of the lens is still something I'm getting used to.

Very nice long tele zoom for the money. Works well on my D750. I can handhold if there is decent light. A definite upgrade from the older 80 - 400.

Like the lens, especially the auto focus. Quality seems good, will know more after using it to a greater degree. A downside, it is a bit on the heavy side but do understand the features likely drive that. Overall, it seems like a good lens for the price.

Very good picture quality with fantastic stabilization. Very heavy and slow to focus in low light. A lot of lens for the price.

This lens is sharp at 500 mm wide open. It takes the Nikon 1.4 teleconverter well. The VR is unbelievable.

Works great and has wonderful clarity and gives good close up opportunities. The only draw back is that it is very heavy and a monopo or tripod is needed in order to keep it steady for the photos.

Good lens if you're looking for some reach and sharpness to boot. It is a beast however to hoist and lug around. Tripod shooters would like it for wildlife. It is too slow for sports.

Honestly after all the research I did prior to purchasing this lens my advice is to disregard any and all negative information about this lens. The quality is nothing short of amazing and maybe the professional pompous photographers have to realize the majority of photographers can't afford a $6,000 to $15,000 lens. Don't hesitate to purchase this lens and images are stunning at all focal lengths.
