    All Around Great Lens

This is a wonderful walk-around lens! At first I was a little apprehensive purchasing the non-VR model, but the price difference did influence my decision. I had also read previous reviews complaining about softness in the newer model. I purchased this one several weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. I already have the 14-24mm f/2.8 and the 70-200mm f/2.8 and needed this intermediate range lens. If not tripod mounted, I do have to hold it steady, but the lens is relatively lightweight, so it's not an issue. I notice no image softness, the color is right on and I'm very glad I saved a few hundred dollars on this fantastic lens.

This lens is one of the best ones I’ve owned. The photos come out sharp and the bokeh is pretty good as well. Love this lens. I would highly recommend it.

I have a Nikon D750, and this is the first serious lens I have purchased. Up until this point I was just taking pictures. This lens has turned me into a photographer and reignited my interest in photography in general. The depth of field is amazing. The low-light performance is phenomenal. The lens is expensive, but if you take advantage of interest-free financing, the cost is easily manageable. I cannot recommend this lens enough. If you are debating on buying a serious lens, this is a wonderful choice.

Have been able to take good picture in difficult situations (I.e. low light, fast action). Heavy, but focus & zoom are very smooth & easy to use

Very sharp lens. I just wish it could zoom out to 100mm as 70mm seems to be about a 1:1 ratio. I think for the close-up stuff I'll be shooting it will work fine in my studio but for roaming around with it in nature and other interesting environments I wish it could zoom more. So think about that if you plan to use this for walking around photography.

A Go To Walk Around Lens for travel

I travel a lot and this is now the only lens I bring. It works in all kinds of arenas, and is so fast! I've gotten some great action shots of animals in the wild. It attracts a lot of attention though, so be sure and keep an eye on your camera at all times with this lens. Very very very pricey. I'd say its worth it though.

There are lots of good lenses on the market, but Nikon is one of the best and this 24-70 f2.8 is one of their best productions. I am getting sharper, clearer, brighter pics than ever before. I would recommend this particular lens to anyone who wants to take great photos because if you want to be able to take great pictures, it helps to have great lenses.

This lens is awesome, it has become the lens that is on the camera most of the time because of it's "just right" range. It is pricey, but you know you get what you pay for. Best Buy is a good place to buy it because they are an Authorized Nikon Dealer so it comes with the USA warranty, they offer financing programs, reward programs. So just hit the buy button you won't be sorry.

All online reviews recommended this lens for the D800 and it has been fantstic so far. Great range and good for everyday camera use, although this camera may not be the "everyday" use kind of model. Came with a nice lens hood and carrying case and has performed exceptionally well in the short time I've had it.

After studying and comparing this range zoom finder I can clearly state that it was not a good buy in the budget I had to work in. Most of my photography is under low light situations and the crisp clarity at 2.8, 6400, 1/200-350, in concert photography does not meet the overall standard reviews given. I am doing my best with it, but now I know I should have waited until I could have afforded the vr for this particular mid zoom. My 50 1.4 prime and 70-200 2.8 vr blow this mid zoom away. High Reviews under the conditions I bought this lens for are not true to my experience with this lens. Sorry I didn't wait.
