Customers are enthusiastic about the AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens's image quality and versatility, frequently praising its sharpness and ability to capture a wide range of shots. The lens's extensive focal length, covering wide-angle to telephoto, is also a significant plus, allowing for diverse photographic opportunities. However, some users find the lens somewhat heavy, and others have noted that the autofocus could be improved for speed and accuracy.

I was looking for a "long" zoom, as a general "carry around" rather than carry around multiple prime lenses.
This lense is a FX, full frame lense, not a cheap DX lense.
It is a great lense, covering wide focal lengths, with great quality.
It's great for spur of the moment photos, I guess "snapshots"
Great quality lense, for a definite manageable price.
Yours Sincerely Karl Hyde

If you are a Nikon shooter you truly should be invested in Nikon glass. Yes sure you could buy cheaper lenses from other manufacturers that put less into there product but if you made the decision to purchase a Nikon body because of quality then don't sell your image quality short.

This is the best all-in-one lens from Nikon. Good for travelling. Pictures are very sharp at any focal length. Easy to operate.

This is the best lens I have in my kit and remains a solid investment to this day. I use it on a D3300, and since it is a cropped sensor the optics end up giving you slightly more zoom than if used on a full frame camera. The active image stabilization is a great feature. The focus ring is in a perfect place to use and switching between auto and manual focus on the fly is very intuitive.

We wanted to use this particular lens when we wanted to go for the dessert safari and see the skyline in Dubai. This is an excellent lens with the functions that lens carry autofocus to manual adjustments. Served my purpose.

This lens is great if you don't want to carry multiple lenses around. I use mine when I go hiking and I don't miss a shot with it.

I bought this lens so that I would not have to carry several lenses when I travel. This lens has a wide angle all the way to telephoto. I did however, give up some quality by doing this, but at least now I am not hauling several heavy lenses.

I was actually looking to buy the 24-120 zoom lens, which for some strange reason is no longer available to purchase, but this lens seemed perfect for my needs. I have used it a few times, mainly to shoot pictures of birds and distant objects, and it has worked great. It is sharp, clear, and with fast focusing, although it's a bit on the heavy side.

Sure, it’s not as sharp as a 2.8 Nikkor prime lens, but it’s good. Plus it’s versatile.

This is a great lens for the price. I used this on a recent trip to Australia and was impressed with the variety of shot I could make with this lens. A definite need for anyone using a Nikon FX DSLR.

I purchased this lens to pair with my Nikon D850 because all of my other lenses were DX lenses and I needed a lens that would allow me to take advantage of the full frame capabilities of my D850. I have been very pleased with the performance so far. It is a bit heavy, especially paired with my heavy D850. It makes a great all in one lens due to the 28-300mm range.

I bought this lens after doing extensive research to pair with my new Nikon D810. I think these two were made for each other. I've been very impressed with this lens and have taken nearly 200 pics with it so far. It's definitely a professional quality lens and will elevate the average hobbyist to the next level.

If you're going to be using strictly DX Nikon cameras, then don't waste money on this. I currently have a DX camera but I'm planning to go ful frame FX in the future. Thus, I'm not going to spend any more money on DX lenses. The convenient range this lens offers is incredible and I love how versatile it is. It also does a decent job of macro photography via its incredible 300mm zoom. Plus, when I go full FX, I can pretty much use this lens for any scenario.

Happy with it, but weighs a lot. Multi purpose; when it is on the camera, I can take pictures or do some weight lifting exercises.
Got it for my Z6 because at the time there were no Z lenses available It also firs the other Nikon bodies, so would probably have picked this one any way.
