I'm using this as a portrait lens on my DX Nikon D500 (equivalent to 80mm). This lens is small but produces mighty results. Images are pin sharp where you want them to be and super smoothly blurry with remarkable bokeh everywhere else (outside of the focal plane).

This is a wonderful lens. The quality is noticeable between the DX and FX lens. The only downside that i have found is that iithas a tough learning curve. Getting the correct focal area can be a bit tricky useing it in certain situations. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

I previously owned the 50 1.8 and wanted the shallower depth of field. I didn't notice too much of a difference. It is a great lens, but I would recommend saving your money and getting the 1.8. Even better save your money and get the sigma art lens.

We've been eyeing this for some time now and Best Buy finally had a decent sale so we pulled the trigger. Great in low-light settings being a f1.4. Overall really great lens, couldn't be happier with our purchase.

This is a great value compared to the $1600 lens! This lens takes just as sharp photos as the more expensive one. Beautiful bokeh as well

I love this lens. I have had many lenses in my collections over the years but none have been the sharp or this fast. On top of that the bokeh is great! This is the way lenses should be. A great portraiture lens for DX bodies. Great job Nikon!

Going to full frame, this lens was a no-brainer. It's a fantastic portrait lens at 50MM. It's lightweight, fast, and takes sharp photos with my D750. The f/1.4 is a treat. Highly recommended!

When I started out my photography business, I went with the 50 1.8. Since upgrading to the 1.4, I've been more pleased than ever with my results. This lens is sharp and fast, and is a must buy for any professional who uses prime lenses.

I absolutely love this lens. I had a similar lens when I had my D3200 and had to have another when I recently got a D750. I almost always have it on and ready to go. Very sharp and super fast, it's never let me down. Highly recommended.

A wide-aperture 50mm lens is one of the most versatile prime lenses almost any photographer can use. Amazing lens very good for portrait.

I recently made a significant upgrade to my camera body. My 50 was my baby on my old body and is still as amazing as ever in the D850. It is very versatile and has a gorgeous bokeh.
