I bought this prime lens mainly for the 1.4 spec. So far I'm happy it's quiet, fast and and does what I wanted for... To blur the background. Mostly used it in studio for boudior photo shoots. Great so far looking forward to using it more outdoor.

One of the best and most essential lenses for your full-frame camera collection. Really great aperture and and focal length and produces super sharp images.

I've used an f/1.8 for years, and finally upgraded to the f/1.4. I can't believe I waited so long! The shallow depth of field is a dream. Favorite lens.

One of the best lens deals when it goes on sale and Best Buy has it as cheep as it gets. Fast prime and is better than I expected. I thought maybe I got a good copy but there's a lot of videos on YT that show it's potential.

Great lens. Especially for portraits and also in low lighting. Worked amazingly great with my Nikon D3200. However I didn't like how it worked with my Nikon D7000; the autofocus sucked. But that's the cameras fault not the lens.

Bought it so my wife can take portrait pictures. Absolutely amazing. She did take a few classes to get the best out of the lens. Well worth the price.

Nice lens, I just wish I would have received it before Christmas, pretty much the reason why I wanted it. The bill showed up before the lens did.

Like may other reviews that I've read about the speed for auto focusing, it is true. If you are used to the newer focusing speed of other Nikon lenses, you'll find this lens painfully slow. So, don't shoot fast scenes with this lens. The f1.4 is there when you need it. The lens is very sharp, once you get it dialed in with your camera.

My "go to" lens while learning digital photography. Sometimes the image isn't focused, but most likely it is user error.
