Love the quality of pics taken for the value of this lens, it's also very fast! I am an amateur photographer but can tell apart a good and bad pic and the quality of a product. This lens is awesome. Totally in love with it. Gives a blur in the backgriund that I just love!

I use this lens on a Nikon D3400 with APS-C sensor which creates an effective focal length of 75 mm. This, along with its low aperture make it great for portrait. It creates sharp pictures with nice blurry background.

Great lens for the price. There are three prime lenses that are a must for photography, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm, in my opinion. This 50mm is great, large aperture, fast focusing, and tack sharp images.

I did a lot of research before buying this lens and it was a great price. I love the bokeh this lens gives for portraits. This lens landed me my first professional photography job due to the awesome pics I was able to capture while using it. I am very happy with this lens!

This is my first time using the 50mm f/1.8G lens. The bokeh effect (a background that’s out of focus) you get is amazing. I spent hours testing it out & came away with stellar close-ups of plant & wildlife. I wish I would have bought this lens with my first DSLR. A must-have!

This lens is a must-have for any Nikon DSLR. The results you get for under $200 are amazing. It's small and compact, as well. For portrait shots, you can't beat it. I couldn't be any happier. Chapel Hill BestBuy made it easy, too.

If you're shooting for any reason, pro or hobbyist, you need a nifty fifty in your life. I'd rather have this on my camera verses a kit zoom any day. Great for photos and video. The 1.8 f stop is great for low light needs.

Even though I ended up exchanging the lens for a 35mm, I still give it a 5 star because the lens was excellent quality, and so were the images I got out of them. I only exchanged it because I use a DX format, so the 1.5 crop factor made it a little hard for me to 'fit' everyone in my frame on a couple of occasions. Other than that, I loved every aspect of this lens.

I bought this lens for the purpose of shooting indoors. I am very impressed with the quality of the photos in low light settings. I am in love with this lens. I recently did a shoot all indoors with poor lighting; this lens was my go to. It performed great and I am very satisfied that I made the purchase. If you don't already have a 50mm lens, you need one!

I have used a cheaper Nikon 50mm f/1.8 for a long time but recently purchased this G lens. One instant improvement was that I could shoot wide open at f/1.8 and not have any sort of fuzziness to the image on my full frame D750 like I used to receive. The 50mm is just something that everyone must have in their arsenal because of it's versatility. I strongly recommend this lens.

I bought this lens on a recommendation from a fellow photographer and WOW! The depth and clarity this lens shoots is absolutely amazing. I use this lens specifically for food shots and this has upped my camera game. The Bokeh effect is absolutely amazing as well.

This lens is definitely worth your money if you like taking portraits. The low f stop helps get that sharp focus on the subject while giving you a nice background blur to any of your shots!
