I bought this lens for the excellent quality of close up shots per my daughter's recommendation. She loves this lens! It is her number one favorite. I love it also. Works great. Easy to change. Comes with its own protective cloth bag to store but I also put it in my camera bag with my camera and zoom lens.

Nice lens for the price. Paying $1,000 more for a little more aperture doesn't seem worth it. This lens is light with just a few elements and is very clear.

I was a little iffy about the not being able to zoom in part but once you get the hang of it it comes naturally! Pictures come out soo nice and crisp with the bokeh in the back u just need to learn how to focus on the write item or person took me a bit to understand something so simple!

I am only a hobby photographer and mostly use this lens for video. I am super happy with the results. All my photos come out looking very professional and it is worth having this lens as part of your must list in your camera bag.

This is a super bargain for any Nikon photographer, the amazing bokeh that this lens produces which is the out of focus background places all emphasis on the subject being photogrpahed. Even though the lens is an FX lens i use it on my DX (D7100) camera with excellent results !

The Nikon 50mm 1.8/G is a great prime lens and great for portrait photography on Crop sensor camera, as it has equivalent focal length of 74mm and ideal for portrait pictures. Bokeh is very nice and good for low light street photography.

Good glass for its value. Bokeh is just ok when you compare it to the 58mm 1.4 (but the latter costs a small fortune). Overall happy with this lens. I used to have one then sold it, then ended up buying this again because of the light weight.

got this lens for portrait and landscape photography. Beautiful creamy bokeh. I discovered the framing is a little too tight for landscapes, so picked up a 35mm f/1.8 as well. As long as you know how you shoot, this lens can't be beat!

It is the first lens in the beginning of my collection and I have a feeling that it will be irreplaceable. Super easy to learn how to use. The auto focus can be a bit loud, but using an external mic for video should do the trick on getting rid of the noise.

Good normal prime lens that I can use with auto focus on either my Nikon D610 full frame or my older Nikon D40 DX (still works nicely). This versatility as well as the image quality the lens provides make it a desirable addition to my collection of lenses. And the price was right.

Everyone needs a 50mm!!! This lens is a great performer for the price!! it's resolving power it's more than decent resolving up to 23MP out of my 36MP sensor (Nikon D810). the Bokeh it's pleasant and chromatic aberration are minimum while shot wide open at f/1.8 Great value!

This is my new favorite lens! It allows so much more light in. Great portrait lens, and great for night time photography. Really just a great all around lens. If I had to grab one lens before I went out, it would be this one. I'm shooting with a Nikon D5300.

Very affordable and gives you more options when shooting pictures or video. I use it for video to allow for better light gathering capabilities. The lens also allows for bokeh (blurred background) which is my favorite feature!

It’s a great prime lens! And definitely an essential piece you must have if you are going to be shooting using prime lens . I’ve using primarily with portraits but it worked great with landscapes when i needed it to .
