This is a fantastic, affordable lens. I was looking for something to take low-light photos of my home renovation projects and dogs. This does the trick. It draws in so much light creating beautiful, "golden hour" type photos. A great addition to any amateur photographer's lens collection.

Amazing clarity! It’s my first 50mm lens and I love it for street shooting. I did some astrophotography with it and other shooting and it performed well. I’ll include some photos I did with it (not edited).

I usually have lens that I can move and focus in and out of with regards to distance, so this lens will take a little getting used to since there is only one distance where you are at. The lens, with my D3100 has taken excellent close up pictures, with excellent clarity. I have at the moment only shoot in Auto mode as I get use to Apertures and F stops, but this lens is an excellent portrait lens for my camera. No issues at all.

This lens is hard to beat for the price tag. Although if you're on a dx body the focal length might be a little long for indoor photos.

This is my first lens...like one I actually bought my self. I've been using my fathers Nikon D90 with a 18-105mm lens....this is so much easier to use for portraits. The depth of field is great but if you want something stronger move up to the 80mm lens. This is a great lens to start out with. I recommend it and I can't wait for my D750 to get here in the mail so I can slap it on that bad boy. The price is good and I can't recommend this lens anymore. The one of the most import a investments for a photographer is the glass and this is worth every penny. Stop reading and buy it!!
