Very sharp and fast lens. Expensive, but worth the money.

I have numerous lenses in my camera bag and I do a lot of sports photography. This by far is the best lens I have owned or used. It focuses very quickly, I have not missed a shot yet. The pictures are sharp and clear. I would recommend this lens to everyone who asked about my pictures.

I'm very impressed.I've never owned any previous version of this lens, so I do not have any reference to compare it with. It is a very sharp lens. Also, I am not a professional photographer but I've done some assignments with family and friends. The reason why I ordered this lens was because I've always wanted to have it and because it is a f/2.8 lens, which it does help a lot to shoot in low-light conditions. It is solid and feels solid as well. Well balanced on my camera with battery grip.- VR is superb. I am very demanding with sharpness. I am sorry but my eyes sees in very high definition and my lenses must be close to my eyes capability, and a lens of this price, it is expected to be sharp at its widest aperture.

This is more lens than you probably need. It's a wonderful feeling. Also very strongly built. I took a tumble and the lens hood took and my arm the force, but the lens body was fine.

This lens is a must have and is built like a tank! Luckily I purchased the BB ADH insurance when I purchased this lens, because just the weight of the lens bent/broke the socket to where the lens sit for my D600. Needless to say this lens is built tough and I have been thoroughly ecstatic since having it. I have had this lens in my sights for over a year now and I can vouch it is worth every single penny if you can afford it. I was split between this lens and the 24-70 f/2.8. I tried both and like this one as it allows me more room to play with my subjects or shots. Price match, save up every penny because this lens is totally worth it. I have not regretted my purchase and I am completely satisfied with the quality of my shots now.

This lens works better than expected. It focuses very quick and gave me the low light reach I was looking for. If you can swing it, I fully recommend it.

This is one of mine Nikon lenses and it is great Build and superb optics. Super fast focusing like almost every nikon pro lens.

I bought this lens and compared it with my 70-300mm. I took numerous shots on different settings. There was a very very slight difference in picture sharpness and colors etc. But not enough for the price difference. So I took it back. Also @ 200mm on both lenses the 300mm @200mm was farther. So i had to stick with the 70-300 for now. If I didnt have the 300mm I would have kept the 200mm.

My move came when i need it the close focus. and this lens did a good job. the 80 -200 is a great lens but this one is a price but excellent choice.
