This lens is wonderful for the price. It's quick to focus and provides beautiful bokeh! Wonderful middle ground if you can't afford the 85mm 1.4.

I have the 50MM but at times find myself too close to my subject. had my eye on this lens for years. Finally went on sale so I took the chance. Great pictures with a much creamier Bokeh than the 50mm. Focus, I have to agree that is a tad slower but not enough to not be functional. Now I don't have to be in my subjects face and the pics I take now my subject are more relax and natural. If you are a hobbyist like me buy this portrait len, Not too expense yet takes exceptional photos

I recently bought a camera lens online and chose in-store pickup — everything went perfectly! The ordering process was easy, and I received a notification as soon as the item was ready. The lens was in excellent condition, well-packaged, and exactly what I needed. The staff at the store were friendly and quick with the pickup. Great experience overall — I’ll definitely shop here again!

I almost always have this lens on one of my two cameras. It is a great lens for walking around. I also use it to take pictures of high school basketball games. I stand behind the basket and it gives me great coverage of the entire half court in front of me. Wonder color and very sharp pictures. This is a great bargain for the price.

Bought this lens for my Nikon 800, you can't beat this lens for the price. It's as sharp or sharper than the 3 times as costly 85mm 1.4 and has almost as good bokeh. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a fast medium telephoto lens for their full frame Nikon.

This is my third lens, and my second prime lens. I absolutely love it, and it's my go-to lens for doing anything. The 85 millimeters is perfect for taking pictures of things far away, and it has awesome aperture for portraits and low light situations. It is the perfect lens for whatever you need to do, and it is very reliable.

This is one of the best investments of lenses I have added to my collection. The photos come out with the right amount of bokeh. I love the quality of my 85mm. It's evident that it's made with great glass. The photographs are stunning. I am attaching some samples of my work with this lens so that you can see what I am talking about. It's my go to lens.

I am a full time professional and bought this lens instead of the 85mm 1.4. The lens is tack sharp and the 1.8 is all I need. It has a sturdy build and is easy to work with... it's also a Nikkor and Nikon's usually work better with Nikon products as they do not share their technology.

I am a big fan of portrait photography. My 18-200mm lens is very practical, but if you are looking for astonishing picture quality, fixed lenses are the best choice if you don't want to pay couple thousands of dollars. I had the 35mm, but it is not a portrait lens. Buying and using the 85mm, gave me a whole new experience with image quality, sharpness and colors. So far, I am very happy with the lens, and "it is worth every penny"; it is mainly what I say every time I get a phenomenal picture with it!

I owned an older version of this lens years ago and, like a dummy, sold it. Now that I'm back into shooting in a studio on a full frame, it became a must. It gives me great results for head shots and portraits, and the bokeh is near stunning.

Awesome Prime Lens! Perfect for portrait photography. This a full frame lens at f1.8 this lens is definitely sharp. However, it can be used on the Nikon DX Crop-sensor models which will increase the focal length more than 85mm. Overall, this lens stays in my camera bag along with my 50mm and others.

I've been using a Nikon 18-145mm Zoom Lens for awhile now and decided to try a prime lens for portrait shots. After some research I decided to go with the 85mm f/1.8 and I'm so happy I bought it. Shots are super sharp and the bokeh is great for any portrait shot or object you're shooting. So glad I bought it.

The biggest competition for this lens is the one also made bt Nikkor for $1400 and most people are always wondering: “Whats the difference!?” And “Is it worth the extra $1000?!” Well, I can tell you from my experience and from what I have seen, shooting both side by side and comparing images. This lens is the better buy, and there’s not enough of a difference in any functionality or image quality to justify soending an extra $1000 for the other lens. People may choose to break it down technically and butcher the specs to justify the extra expense.. specs or not, this lens is worth every penny, and the more expensive one - just IS NOT. Pictures don’t lie.

Lens is pretty sharp and a great focal length for portraits. A little long for my taste on APS-C bodies. Decent colors and AF is fast and accurate. The only issue is color fringing.

This lens has great image quality, and is MUCH cheaper than the f1.4 variants. This lens is also smaller and lighter, and overall you get close to the same depth of field. Save your money and get this. It is probably the best value for a portrait lens there is.
