I only have about 100 clicks on it so far but I will highly recommend this lens I have used it for portraits and macros just great Sharp like a razor

This lens took great pictures with excellent clarity. It will also focus extremely close. The autofocus is lightning fast. The only problem I had is the auto-focus doesn't work when in close.

I purchased this lens to experiment with macro photographs. So far, mostly plants, bugs and lizards. Very good images with a little practice. Had issues once with the auto focus and discovered the lens wasn't properly seated in the mount. The only slightly annoying thing about the lens is that it can be noisy during the focusing process. Not photographic noise but audio noise. You forget about the noise when you see the results.

Very sharp, best for the close up shot. I am glad to have it.

My review doesn’t mention the quality and capabilities of this fine lens. If you’re shopping for the 105mm Micro, you already know that. I had been shopping for this Nikkor lens for almost a year, knowing that once in a great while, BB offers a discount. And if you’ve shopped for this lens, you also know it’s almost always out of stock. BB recently had it in stock and with an incredible $200 discount! Needless to say, I jumped all over it and along with the 18 mos same as cash, could not be happier to finally own one of Nikon’s best offerings! Thanks BB!

Good quality lens versatile for many photo situations

I'm an semi-experienced photo newbie shooting with a Nikon D7200. I saw a bunch of favorable reviews on this lens after the BestBuy photo employee recommended it. It's an awesome Macro and Portrait lens. I've been enjoying amazingly hidden 'worlds' while photographing ants, flowers, stone, gnats, moss, fingerprints, portraits and store products. I appreciate the extra distance it allows from the subject so that you can use a good deal of natural light without shadowing the target. It's a hefty piece of fine equipment with lots of GREAT bokeh!

Gives you great color and the best of sharpness that a lens can. Also creates a beautiful bokeh for portraits! A great first prime lens! I love it!

This is an excellent piece of glass. It is superb for macro work, portraits, and anything else one would shoot at 105mm. It is an extremely sharp lens.

This lense has been a great asset to our set. We have already used it to take a few family photos and cannot wait to try it on some scenery shots during our vacation.

I like this lens a lot, especially coming from an old 40mm macro lens. The focal length is great but my only concern is that it's very heavy. If you use it with a full frame body, you're going to gain some muscles. It also makes a strange sound when auto focusing, like there's a jingling inside. It doesn't affect the auto focus, just a minor annoyance.

I have been in photography for over 30 yrs. This is by far the best lens to use for close ups. That is the main reason I bought It. Works great on my Nikon D80 and will work even better on my Nikon D600 with the FX format

The detail and sharpness is incredible - very versatile lens! If you only get one lens I highly recommend this one.

I wanted to give macro work a try. And so far I am enjoying it. It got this for my Z7 and looks great.

I love this lense for catching those detail shots. Great for weddings and other events. This lense is also a good portrait lens. I find the Vibration reduction a definite plus!

It was a great purchase for filming my jewelry designs. Works great with my Nikon Z6

Pros: Very sharp and fast Cons: Price Some motor noise while focussing

All around great lens. Great for closeups and macros. Great for portraits. Great for landscapes.

I haven't used this lens much yet but plan to this weekend. The couple photos I took are sharp and look great!
