Customers frequently mention the exceptional image quality and impressive zoom capabilities of the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED Telephoto Zoom Lens. Many also praise its ease of use and effective vibration reduction. However, some users note that the lens is somewhat heavy and its performance can be affected in low-light conditions. A few also mention that the price point may be a consideration for some buyers.

Very good zoom. It work in dslr cameras and also in full frame sencor cameras.
When you use en DSLR Cameras it range is converted to 105 - 450 because of the crop efect of the reduced sensor.

I was looking for a zoom lens that would fit my needs. After looking at several lenses in the Honolulu store and speaking with one of the clerks as well as testing it out in the store, decided that this lens was perfect for the kind of work that I do. I am very pleased with the results and will be back to Best Buy to pick up another lens! Thank you

I purchased this for Christmas gift for our existing Nikon D-80. My wife and I are amatuer, at best, photographers. We wanted something better than our 'I-phones' for lasting, high quality pics of kids' sporting events, etc. Lense has multiple 'hand shake' sensors and works awesome

This lens is worth the money. It takes nice pictures and is priced very well for a full frame lens. Not a replacement for the higher end lenses but a great starter lens / keep in the backpack while traveling lens.

We added this lense as part of a bundle with our camera...so glad we did! It helps me take precise photos of our son at swim meets, as well as his teammates! Very impressed with the zoom this lense provides!

Lightweight and a terrific focal length make this a great outdoor lens, and while I'm shooting up in the mountains, this is the only lens I'm using. Not the first choice in low light conditions however, but the same can be said for most lenses at this price range. For what I use this lens for, it is absolutely remarkable and I will enjoy using this for years to come.

Overall I really have enjoyed using this lens. The VR feature really makes a huge difference. I have heard the 80-400 mm seeks too much when focusing but I have not seen it with this lens. Beware its a bit heavy and you'll get tired lugging it around so be prepared. Otherwise I really have no complaints. The shot I have submitted was taken using this lens at 300mm ISO 200 at f 7.1. This was taken handheld on an overcast day. The detail of the nearest swan is superb on the original image. Have fun!

A great add on lens to your nikon. I wanted something in the 300mm range and the price was right on this lens.
Very sharp, clear pictures with this lens.
Take it from me, 300mm is not enough. If you can afford to go the distance.

I previously bought the 55-300 to start with.
it was an ok lense, with zoom and all, but something was missing.
i went back to best buy and tested it out with the "camera guys", they told me that the lense was ok and thats how it performs. they gave me advise and quite some tips..... one of those was:"lets try this 70 -300 out, and you tell me what you think"... well, ok!
tried it on my camera and liked it very much. the feel (a little weight) and how focus performed (very fast). Exchanged the lense and have been very happy.
if you can throw the the extra cost over the 55-300, definitely do it!
there are better lenses, but i belive this is a very good price-performance for the money!

The Nikkor 70-300mm works great I am really hap with the distance shots I am able to get. Plus it is easy to get the close up shots with the gaussian blur in the back ground.

I am using this for my travels around the world and it is working great. There is a trade off I made. For a super zoom (24-300mm) you get image distortion at the high and low ends. With this lens in combo with a 18-135mm, you get a lot less distortion but you have to change lenses. I preferred the lens change to the image distortion. Also, this lens is heavy which goes with well built lenses. It works great!.

Love using this lens on my D3200. The lens gives me the extra reach I need to shoot surf from shore while maintaining a quick auto focus and great sharpness! Would recommend this for anyone needing something with more reach on a crop sensor body, and may upgrade to full frame eventually as this works on those bodies as well.
