Customers frequently mention the exceptional image quality and impressive zoom capabilities of the AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED Telephoto Zoom Lens. Many also praise its ease of use and effective vibration reduction. However, some users note that the lens is somewhat heavy and its performance can be affected in low-light conditions. A few also mention that the price point may be a consideration for some buyers.

Works seamlessly with my D5500. Prior to purchasing this lens, I was using some of my old lenses that required manually focusing. This was a great investment.
For most situations, the 300mm is more than sufficient. This one, so far, has taken great pictures both landscape and action photos.
I considered more of an all-in-one lens, so I didn't need to change them out, but decided not to sacrifice image quality.
Would definitely recommend!

Finally purchased a larger lens so I don't have to get close to birds and scare them off. Great stabilized photos with excellent color. Recommend monopod if you want to print large photos.

I think this is one of Nikon's better zoom lenses for the price and weight. It produces sharp and contrasty photos at the center even wide open at all focal lengths. And I mate it with a D750 that challenges it. The far edges are not as sweet but that really isn't a problem as long as your subject remains within the middle 3/4 of the shot.

I took this lens to Europe for two weeks and used it extensively. With the exception of an occasional slight sticking of the zoom ring it functioned flawlessly. The zoom range filled a gap in my lenses and permitted me to capture the images from a distance that I might not have otherwise been able to get. I like this lens a lot and plan to use it frequently.

This is the second Nikon AFS 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 VR IF ED that I bought. Give my other one to my daughter for her D7100. I missed the lens so I got this one. It works great on D750 and D500 and have great use out of it. I use it for GD's soccer.

This lens is great for most daily use. I only wish it were a bit faster, but it is fine when there's enough light and you don't want extremely narrow depth of field. Great price for what it is!
