Good camera for throwing in a backpack or your pocket. Like the fact I can take it in the pool or at the beach and not worry about dropping it in the water. Wifi is a great feature that lets you control your camera from your smartphone, even see on your phone what the camera sees. Uploading is easy. The camera only shoots in jpg so post editing is limited (I come from the DSLR world and shoot only in raw). Quality is great in better lighting but becomes grainy in poor light. All in all this is a good fun camera for what it's intended for.

I have had a few different waterproof cameras over the years, I had the first generation of Olympus waterproof cameras and absolutely loved it however when it finally lost its waterproof qualities (after many years of hard use) and I had to get the newer model I was very disappointed. I had read mixed reviews about the Nikon but after a lot of research and help from a very knowledgeable sales associate I decided to give it a try. I got this camera right before going on vacation to Hawaii and was very nervous about how it would hold up. This camera is everything that I had hoped for, it was easy to use, held up to being in and out of the water, and took great pictures. I am very happy with my new camera :)

Took to the Bahamas for anticipated underwater scuba and snorkeling. Easy to use, easy to clean, lightweight, not bulky, picture quality was appreciated. Coral was not brilliant in color so didn't expect pictures brilliant either. However, the fish color and detail was captured.

I use mine with a tripod so that I can really stage my shots. The multi-selector (round button with OK in the middle) is small, so when you see YouTube videos many people have problems getting to the right menus. The buttons on the left side are convenient (wifi, video). The app you can download for iOS (what I have) or Android is pretty cool, i.e. you connect your phone to the Nikon and you can view pictures on camera or take remote control photos. Understandably, the charger plug is inside the waterproof battery/memory card slot cover. Fits nice in my front cargo pant pocket. Weight is nice. Very happy with this purchase. I have not used this underwater. I picked out the Orange, however, it looks more red to me (which is really what I wanted). Buttons are not confusing like on my old camera. Plenty of options to take a picture and then do some special effects. Love the GPS option and how it draws a map of where you shot the picture. I've done a few two minute movies and was very happy (camp fire scenes, and roaring rivers). It feels solid as well.

I bought this camera for my trip to Iceland in January. So glad I had this because it was snowing, raining, and cold at various points of the trip. Definitely waterproof as well since I took it very close to a waterfall. The battery also lasted way longer than my iphone battery which died within minutes of being exposed to the cold. The second major use was underwater in florida. I took some amazing photos of sting rays and various schools of fish. I thought the images would look terrible as I saw them through my goggles, but once I was actually above water and transferred to a computer, they turned out pretty great. The quality isn't as great as a dslr, but I'd say they were pretty darn good taken regularly and underwater as well.

I bought this camera since I do a lot of Kayaking & didn't want to worry about dropping my camera in the water. The reviews spoke of the good quality of the photos & quick 'refresh' time - i.e. I don't have to wait a long time till I can take the next photo. Like any camera, it takes getting used to, but the crispness of the photos, especially the outside ones, gets me a lot of positive feedback. Great videos. No, I haven't put it under water yet - having too much fun with it right now. My partner, who taught photography, is envious of my new camera. It's small, lightweight, fits in my pocket. There are a lot of options I haven't tried & a lot I don't need, like the ability to retouch/fix photos before uploading them to your smart phone,since I photoshop mine on the computer.

We own and operate a guided kayak and snorkel company and need a good, waterproof, bang-up proof, camera to take photos and videos of our guest. We have own several different models: the Olympus TG-310, the Nikon AW100, the Nikon AW110. All have flooded or the viewing screen went blank. We've read the reviews and talked with other outdoor enthusiast and were recommended the Nikon AW130. So far I've been down to 40 feet with recording video while spearfishing and lobstering and the AW130 performed well. We're looking forward to many years of on and underwater photography from this little gem. Why the fours stars instead of five? I used to like the other cameras too, until they failed me. Still optimistic about this one.

I bought this camera just before going on vacation at the beach. My family did a lot of water sports and went dolphin watching. This camera performed wonderfully. The photos were sharp and well focused, even when splashed by waves. It provided us with new angle options because we did not have to worry about water damage. It never leaked. Each time I returned to the villa, I rinsed the camera with fresh water for several minutes and let it dry thoroughly before trying to download photos. I gave it 5 stars because the camera itself is excellent. However, my one negative thought was that it did not come with any floatation. It is VERY necessary, especially during water sports. None of the floatation devices sold separately were available in-store and I didn't have time to wait for delivery, so I improvised with a piece of a pool noodle cut to size and the neck strap threaded through the center. Worked like a charm. LOVE this camera.

I do quite a bit of motorcycling trips both on and off road so a rugged camera is a must for me. I've owned a few waterproof cameras over the years a I think I can say this one will be around for a while. On a recent trip from NC to Key West and back it got put to the test. Rain, dirt, sand, salt water and a couple off road tumbles didn't phase it. The pictures are very crisp and clear. One of the features I wanted in a new camera was WiFi and was a bit disappointed to read the bad reviews about the interface after I had bought the camera. I installed the app on my Samsung phone and happy to say it works nearly perfect for me. The only glitch I have found it when I try to text a pic after downloading to the phone it says the file format is not recognized by the phone and it won't insert it in the text. Weird because the format is Jpeg. My work around is to screen shot the pic and send it. I guess my biggest complaint is that the buttons are a bit small for my big fingers. I also think Nikon should include a wrist strap had to buy one separately.

I bought this for my husband who is a fisherman.Now he can carry his camera without the fear of ruining his camera if he accidentally drops it in the water.With diabetic neurophy his loses his grip easily...problem solved.It takes great pics and is easy to use.He loves the wifi capability.He has recommended to all his fishing buddies.

This is the best underwater camera ever takes perfect pictures very sharp very easy to use easy to clean, peefect size to carry and take in the water.

It's great for the amateur picture taker. I had no leaks and the inside stayed nice and dry. It took alot of great pictures and video. I used a 64gb card, and have 60% memory left, 1400 pictures and two hours of video. Biggest downside: the focus is no better than it's non waterproof counterparts. And after 10 days in the Rainforests of Costa Rica the flash decided to work when it wanted to.

After doing extensive research, I decided to get this camera because I travel a lot and sometimes a big DSLR is difficult to carry. I have tried several point and shoot, but this Nikon is perfect because of the size and quality of the pictures. It also shoots HD. I'm a scuba diver so It's a good option to use underwater. The only downside is it does not have a red filter, although it has an underwater setting but I haven't tried it yet. All in all, it's top of the line for a point and shoot of this category.

This is a good little camera to keep in your pocket for those times when you need to snap a quick picture. Easy to use, pictures are crisp and it is waterproof as advertised.

I am very impress with this camera. I purchased it for my Bahamas vacation. I used it everywhere we went. In the water slides in Atlantis, underwater scuba diving, at the beach. All my pictures and videos are awesome. The camera has a great zoom. Still learning how to use the many features it has. I have a Canon Rebel and I can that this camera performs pretty well. The wifi feature is also great. Just have to download the Nikon app to use that feature.

Excellent camera. On last vacation had in my pocket and fell in the lake out of my buddies boat not knowing what I had in my pocket and of course had my wallet camera and phone. Of course had a lifeproof case on my phone. Overall excellent camera love the built in wifi so makes it easier to transfer photos to my iPhone.

Super easy to use, you can Bluetooth your pictures and videos to your phone sans cords, and good quality pictures make me very glad I purchased this camera. I'd previously purchased a less expensive camera, but the tiny buttons and knobs made it very tedious to operate. The Coolpix was worth the extra money!

I got this for my honeymoon in bora bora and it was great! The photos were great quality. The underwater photos were amazing and it was great for regular photos too. Very easy to use and it came with a strap to wear around your neck. On our trip, we saw other couples using the same camera too.

This is a good camera for both pictures and videos. It takes nice clear pictures and it's very light. Being water proof is a plus.

I take medicine that unfortunately makes me shake. My cell phone pics were hit and miss. I have a really nice Canon but it's too bulky to carry around all the time. So I went shopping for a good anti-shake camera and this is what I came home with, with the understanding that I had 15 days to try it out or return it. Well, so far so good. I haven't taken 1 blurry picture! Yesyerday, just to test it, I took pictures of the scenery alongside the freeway while my friend drove 70 miles per hour......all the pics were fabulous. ...you can even see the individual leaves on the oleander that line the freeway. Overall I am very impressed with this camera. Think it's all keeper!
