Great camera, great picture quality, good zoom. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the auto focus takes too long at times to adjust. And there is no manual way for adjusting focus.

Nikon - COOLPIX B500 is the perfect startup camera. It generates excellent images and provides flexibility (AA batteries or AA nicad rechargeable compatibility; hand held or standard tripod mountable; electronic image transfer or insert microSD/microSDHC combo card from camera into pc/laptop/tablet). It has combo lens ( approx 24mm to approx 190mm). The main negative is the slower auto focus speed.

It's kind of a basic camera in a fancy chassis. The zoom is nice but takes too long to auto focus. The snapbridge app doesn't really work as well as it was advertised. Probably could have spent half as much for the same functionality.

I asked my husband for this camera for my Birthday after a blogger said BB gave them one and they liked it. We travel and I felt it would be a better option than my outdated Sony DSLR. This is the worst camera EVER! It locks up, has very limited settings, the auto focus is horrible and a flash that I have to manually pop up?! Come on, Nikon, you can do better than this! It sits in a drawer.

Great long zoom, step-up from basic point-n-shoot

I'm an old school SLR (remember film?) user - no longer wanting or needing to get technical, but wanted enough features to play with and achieve great results. Size was convenient for travel. Resolution, optics are good. Autofocus is a bit sluggish, but I learned to work with it. The adjustable screen viewer is a handy feature. Panorama feature seemed a bit wonky at times, but it's probably user error. I typically use it for travel photos, better-than-snaphots of events and friends, etc. For the price, it fits the bill. Happy with it.

I have couple professional DSLR cameras and the latest iPhones. The reason buying this camera is to use this light weight camera when traveling outside the country. My DSLR are very heavy, my iPhone takes good photo but expect this will be my backup camera. After purchased and tested it, don't like it at all! My iPhone takes much better pictures than this. Hard to get auto focus if not enough light. Can't adjust apperture, shutter speed and ISO manually. The flash is not automatic, it is manual popping it by hand. Don't have burst mode. Couple things I want to point out is the weight is light comparing to the DSLR camera, inexpensive, display screen is movable, uses 4x AA batteries (in case out of batteries, you can simply pick up 4 AA batteries from 711), connects to smartphone and uses smartphone GPS and date for the photo metadata. I don't like buy and return. Although I don't like it, I will keep it. I should buy a light weight DSLR camera instead.

Great camera for beginners or veteran photographers who are tired of lugging pounds of equipment around but want decent quality images and bluetooth/wifi technology. I bought this amazing little camera for macro and product photography. It replaces my Nikon DSLR. Decided that I needed to reduce the amount of time shooting, transferring images, editing etc. to sell online. Wanted to maintain image quality but make use of improved technology. Love this little camera!!! Great quality!! Excellent macro capabilities. The flip screen is fabulous for shooting small pieces of jewelry without having to 'hover' over the top of them in a light tent. Ugh!!! SnapBridge was a bit of a challenge but got its quirks figured out and it works great!!!!! Gotta pair on app and camera as simultaneously as possible or just won't successfully pair. Using Iphone 6. Struggling a bit with no control over f stop and shutter speed. Camera seems to opt for fast shutter speeds and large lens openings no matter what you set it at. Smaller lens openings and slower shutter speeds better for what I shoot. Also some auto focus issues using zoom even when within specified range. Good photos are really about light, composition, creativity and understanding the strengths vs limitations of your equipment. So.....I will get the 'issues' worked out.
