Not for someone who knows cameras

I am an avid amateur photographer. I have used everything from and old Kodak Brownie camera to a Nikon D3 DSLR. My most recent camera broke, just before going to a wedding for my niece. I made an impulse camera purchase and I really regretted it. I bought the Nikon Coolpix B500 camera expecting to get a serious camera. If you know anything about photography, beyond using auto mode, this is not that camera for you. While it has a lot of different modes, the one thing it will not allow you to do is adjust the shooting parameters. There is no Shutter Priority Mode, no Aperture Priority Mode and definitely no Manual Mode. If one of their presets doesn't work for you, you are forced to pick another one and hope it does. Over 50% of my photos were not worth trying to save in Photoshop. When you spend $250 for a camera, I expect a lot more than what the Nikon B500 offered. In the end, I spent another $150 and bought a Panasonic Lumix FZ80 which will more than do the job.

    OKAY CAMERA FOR A BEGINNER!

Camera has pretty good quality photos. It is a little heavy so it gets a little annoying to hold it at ceremonies/events. There's no manual to actually explain what each setting does!

I can't rate this camera higher due to the focusing system. I've had several occasions where I was ready to take the shot when the camera decided to refocus and gave a blurred image.

I bought this so that my son could start his YouTube channel. The pixel quality is horrible. He uses his cellphone instead.

Camera keeps locking up while taking pictures. Requires opening the battery compartment to reset. Also, it uses only Bluetooth to transfer pictures to your phone which is slooooooow at 16mp resolution. Wifi is only for remote control. Going to return it for the Canon SX530.

Camera works great except that there sometimes is a problem with the autofocus. The picture all of the sudden becomes blurry and stays that way as I use the zoom.

The picture quality is not great. Pictures are not as clear as I expected. Not any better than my Samsung cell phone. Want to exchange this camera for a Canon

Not a bad camera at all. Just wasn't sold on it when I bought it. Wanted crisper pictures with a longer zoom so returned for something better.

I am not a pro but I thought the camera would be easy to use for beginners. It was very difficult to navigate and the picture quality was not good. My iPhone takes better photos. Also the wifi function to transfer photos to my devices never works. I had to purchase additional equipment in order to get my photos off of the camera. I do not recommend.

It does a decent job for the cost. My wife liked the purple color. For a few dollars more the Sony is a much better camera.
