I asked my husband for this camera for my Birthday after a blogger said BB gave them one and they liked it. We travel and I felt it would be a better option than my outdated Sony DSLR. This is the worst camera EVER! It locks up, has very limited settings, the auto focus is horrible and a flash that I have to manually pop up?! Come on, Nikon, you can do better than this! It sits in a drawer.

bought this from best buy good price but camera has flaws I hate the battery compartment ,if you dont close it just right the batteries fall out, and you always have tio fiddle with it to close it

Camera was returned as it had no view finder to look through. Therefore no mirror system. Missed that when buying this camera for my kid. Not Best Buy’s fault. This camera only has a view screen to frame an image before taking the picture. For that kind of photography we can use our smart phones. Don’t need this kind of camera! Returned the camera unused and in original package. Got my full refund. Shame on Nikon! Got another brand Digital SLR camera, which was not available at the same price at Best Buy, at another store. View finder, mirror, quality camera. A real digital, professional SLR. Not like the bad joke this Nikon camera was. Always used to like Nike, but…

Takes horrible blurry pics but takes great videos!

Well I read so many good reviews about this camera and I'm so upset because I can't even use it because I have a iPhone which makes no sense. There is no update software for apple devices therefore I can't set the camera up to use it. The first one I bought I thought it was something wrong with it and I called customer service for her to tell me oh it's not working return it. So I waste my time to go back up there to exchange it for another one. For it to do the samething. I call customer service again! Finally he tells me that it's no way I can use to camera with my iPhone and have to set it up using another smart device. This is ridiculous. That is something they should tell you before selling it. Makes no sense so now I have to go back to the store for the 3rd time to see if the store can set it up for me until the release the software update for apple. If not I can't use the camera and returning it!!

I had high hopes, but no dice. I used it for my family reunion in June and taking pictures of bears in the mountains. I changed dial settings and changed light settings over the next 4 months. Finally in October I took it into Geek Squad for repair and they cleaned and reset. STILL BAD. Even tho I had the insurance it was a waste. They said if I want it fixed I could take it back again, and again. No thanks. The Nikon S7000 is a much better camera than the B500. Disappointed in Best Buy policies.
