Take the lens cover off before turning the camera on and all works well. I've used a pocket camera for ever with my job but needed a camera with more zoom and this one does the job. I rigged up a belt clip attachment and now its just like having a pocket camera.

I have a Nikon D5100 which I absolutely love but it is cumbersome when trying to change lenses quickly. So I decided to invest in a compact digital camera for a trip that I will be doing multiple flights from place to place. I’ve taken a few pictures with it to get used to it and it has a nice feel and quality.

Nikon is the Best

This point and shoot camera has all the features I needed in a small size that is easy to carry on vacations. The quality is very good, and the zoom makes it very useful for getting those shots you need. The price at BESTBUY was better than other stores that I looked at.

Camera it would be everything I'd need, but I was wrong, I have to keep buying batteries! Honestly I regret buying it for that reason.

Posted .Many Nikon COOLPIX cameras use rechargeable Li-ion batteries and are supplied with a battery and a charger. However, some COOLPIX models, like this COOLIPX B500, are designed for those consumers who prefer to use AA batteries. The COOLPIX B500 uses 4 AA size batteries. LR6/L40 alkaline, FR6/L91 lithium, or EN-MH2 rechargeable Ni-MH batteries can be used. The Battery Type setting, which can be found in the Setup Menu, should be changed to reflect type of battery being used.
