I have been looking for a good amateur camera to start taking pictures of family and scenes from around my own state or for whenever I go on vacation. I use to do a lot of picture editing in High School and took a couple of classes using Photoshop (yearbook, comp. applications, and excelled comp. app.) which, I liked a lot and wanted to get back into. I looked at a lot of reviews for different cameras to find something that would A. take good pictures and B. something that wouldn't break the bank. I have even watched reviews on YouTube to see if this was the camera I wanted. I told my husband this was the next thing I was saving up for and he surprised me with it Christmas morning. Favorite feature is that it sends the pictures I take straight to my phone when it connects to WiFi! No need to plug it into my computer to get the pictures! It does take batteries which I don't mind. I just got a rechargeable set and I always keep a spare set in my camera bag. You can put a large sim card in there but I just use a 64 gb because the pictures are sent to my phone so I can just go through and delete them.

Great Point & Shoot Cam under $300

I researched quite a few budget cameras before settling on this little beauty. The Nikon Coolpix B500 is just what I was looking for. It's compact and powerful. It has a 16 MP telephoto NIKKOR glass lens with 40X zoom. I literally caught a great image of a dog half a block away with great accuracy. I don't think I need it for that, but wow! It has a flash but the low light shots without the flash can be gorgeous. I bought it mainly for two reasons. 1) I wanted a good digital camera for short videos. I know I could easily use my smartphone, but I like to listen to music while filming and the playback stops if I use my phone. 2) I wanted something that could easily transfer images and videos from the camera to my computer. And this baby has wireless transfer via Bluetooth, NFC or WiFi. This also allows me to send those files to my smartphone. That's perfect on so many levels. It runs on 4 AA batteries ( I use rechargeable batteries.) Also, considering that this shooter is almost 2 years old, at the time of this review. ( release date: February 23, 2016) it still is more than relevant. 1080p full HD video and stupid crisp images. The view screen can be adjusted so you can get that awkward high up or underneath shots. I love this Camera at the price of $249.99 +tax. I highly recommend this camera to anyone needing a great point & shoot at a great price. Like I said, this is a 2 year old shooter and it's just lovely and comfortable to use. You will love this Cam.

Very good picture quality and features for the price. I bought this camera for my wife to take photos of our children and family outings. Very simple to use for a beginner and the built in WI-FI and Bluetooth make downloading and sharing photos really easy. Plus, you can take photos remotely using your smartphone. All great features. The only drawback is that it is not rechargeable and takes AA batteries instead. That is an advantage as well. No waiting for it to charge. Just put fresh batteries in and go.

After tasking my wife with picking a new camera for herself, she was immediately drawn to the plum casing. I like to think that I'm the more rational of the two, so I decided to research the camera a little more. Ultimately, I liked what I saw, so we chose to purchase it. Luckily, for us, the decision to purchase the camera was the correct one. All of the photos that we've taken are absolutely beautiful. They're just as clear, if not clearer, than an existing DSLR that we lost in Hurricane Harvey. The LCD screen is very clear, though the rotation of the screen is so limited that I've yet to find a decent use for it actually rotating it . . . But, it is a neat future. All of the photo modes work as they're intended and the zoom is truly fantastic. My only complaint, as so many others have complained about, is the batteries. I can't quite wrap my head around as to why the camera doesn't have a rechargeable battery, but I knew that prior to purchasing the camera, so I can't complain all too much about it. Ultimately, we are extremely happy with our purchase.

I purchased this camera for an e-commerce business. I did not want the hassle of learning a new hobby, I just needed very high quality, high resolution pictures. This camera has a lot of easy to use functionality that makes the set up for a photo simply selecting the proper setting and flipping up the flash. All of the first set of pictures were truly impressive, mostly due to the camera! This past weekend I used the tripod and zoomed into the full moon and was able to zoom so far, it filled the entire screen and I took some amazing shots of the craters on the moon with it! The ONLY issue I've had was the camera would not power up a few times. I took the brand new battery out, re-inserted the batteries, and it fired right up. Still using the original batteries fine so they had plenty of charge... I Highly recommended.this camera!

This Nikon - COOLPIX B500 16.0-Megapixel Digital Camera is my first real camera purchase. This camera is easy to learn to use. I bought it to take action pictures for my boys soccer games. So much better than the camera on my phone. Takes great pictures and fairly well at action shots. If the kid is moving too fast, you might get a slightly fuzzy shot, but you can still tell what is happening. The mode for action shots is exciting because you can take 3-5 consecutive shots at the same time by how long you hold the button down when taking a pic. I do not like the fact that this camera does not have a rechargeable battery pack that can be purchased with it. You are stuck buying rechargeable AA batteries, and a specific kind, which means you have to buy a charging case to recharge the batteries. Overall, very happy with the camera. And I love the Plum color.

Purchased over the summer and have been using it ever since. My wife and I wanted another camera for those quick point & shoot moments while on trips or family gatherings. Having a DSLR camera already this was a great choice for us! Simple to use and has enough features that we can use since we are not die-hard photography enthusiasts. Great for casual camera use but good enough for nice pictures that even a mid level camera user like us can appreciate. Price point is great in my opinion and a little better than Canon’s price point for a camera in this range. Sure Canon has more features, and I am a Canon camera user, but to me and my wife Nikon has a good reputation in photography to which is why we had to decide which of the two brands we wanted to get. As is we chose this Nikon point & shoot and have loved it ever since!! Just be sure to understand your camera needs and all. We purchased a bigger memory card so that we never run out of moments we both want to take pictures of!!

So, i bought this camera because I loved the color, the pop up flash, and how it came with a necklace attatchment and had wifi. I used it about 3 times. I loved all the different settings and modes also. So, the downside, I went to turn it on one day and it would not open the lense and turn on, as if the lense was jammed. I did not drop it or anything. So i don't know why it would do that. Finally after googling, I held the take picture button and on button and after a while got it on. However it would do this everytime I turned it on. When i went to use the flash a bunch of lines came up on the screen. It was broke out of nowhere. I had to exchange it for a whole different camera. Another downside it takes 4 Aa batteries, which isnt a huge issue but kind of inconvenient. And the screen it has lifts up and down but not enough to see it if you were to take a selfie picture, it doesnt turn all the way around.

This is a fairly easy to use camera with some nice features. I am happy with the picture quality for the price of the camera. Don't bother with the app that is supposed to connect with your cell phone. Couldn't get it to work and the comments section about that feature was terrible. Have owned a few digital pocket sized cameras before and the biggest difference is the long range zoom on this camera.

This was my first time ever taking pictures and I wasn't ready to dish out a lot of money for anything yet until I caught on to the hobby. I ended up loving taking pictures and this camera is so easy to use and takes great pics. Takes a while to get used to the features, but the wifi to my phone is awesome as well. As soon as I take a picture, it will send right to my phone. Great product.

I use the camera mainly outdoors on hiking trips. Zoom is amazing, quick focus, nice features, battery life is decent with lithium batteries, lightweight, scene modes easy to set. Only downfall is trying to focus up close, took lots of work.

Bought this for my mother for on Christmas. She loves the camera, but the down side is the camera uses AA batteries and the software to link your smart phone to the camera can be difficult at first. The pictures look really good and crisp. The flash unit is very bright. Overall it's a good camera, just needs to be updated to a rechargable lithium battery.

Loved this camera compared to the others I looked at, and bonus it's purple! Takes amazing pictures and is so easy to use. A lot of the reviews I read said that the SnapBridge app didn't work for iPhone but it does now!! And it is so convenient, would for sure reccomend (and not just for dogs lol)

The Nikon Coolpix camera has a lot of good benefits. Great color, great app to sync to the WiFi which helps a lot when you are wanting to share the pics you took as you travel. It makes taking pictures more fun. It works really fast when snapping pictures of moving animals which make it fun when you are at a national park. The screen that pops out makes it easy when you are taking a video of a parade at Disney World over the heads of others. There are a lot of settings to make it more personal. Best buy made buying it beneficial when it came to knowledge and quickness of the sale.
