Need someone that knows the camera for help
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried to use the wi fi feature and I can not get the right help from your store. It is very disappointing because this is one of the reasons I purchased this camera.

awesome camera!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this camera is amazing. the sharpness, the clarity, the colors, the handling, the capabilities. The weight, the size, all great. I also have a sony a6000 so I was thinking i would be settling with less megapixels when I bought this, which I bought because I wanted more reach to get those birds in the trees... I am NOT settling, I am simply delighted! this camera is awesome. I had to move to lightweight cameras because of carrying them around for hours, etc., and this fits that bill. At only 1 lb and 4 oz, the camera is very light with all that zoom. And not just zoom, but great detail :) The battery life, too, is awesome. I took over 700 photos yesterday and my battery was still fine. I highly recommend this camera! :) enjoy :)

Quality photos
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great camera, but Nikon software is a problem nearly impossible/difficult to use.

Not as comfortable as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Focusing is too slow. Camera “feel” is cumbersome. I like the software: blue tooth, WiFi, 20 megapixels, long focal length is great.

Horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return this camera. It took horrible pictures and was slow too. I returned it and purchased a Sony camera instead

Very disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was told would be comp to P610, not even close, ugh, really hate it and wish they still made the 610 or at least didn't charge an arm and a leg to fix the old one. Definitely don't recommend the B700. Bummer.

Solid, reliable bridge camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The B700 represents a great step up from a smart phone camera, with enough manual control to rival a DLSR -- but with half the weight and cost. Colors, especially with 4K video, really pop. In other words, this is a terrific camera for traveling, vacations or those occasions when you don't want to haul around a bag full of expensive lenses. The f/stop range is a bit narrow for my taste, but the power zoom is fantastic. One of the best features about the zoom range is you don't absolutely have to use a tripod at extreme telephoto. The image stabilization is quite good on this camera and if you brace your body against, say, a doorframe or support the camera on a fence post outdoors, you can get really crisp shots at full zoom. And no matter what you may read online, this camera WILL take a 52mm filter ring. Just use a little care in screwing it on. I picked up a set of ND filters, a UV and a polarizer to go in my bag. They all work fine. The SnapBridge feature is incfredibly convenient. This allows you to transfer images manually or automatically from the camera wirelessly to a smartphone. From there, you can upload photos to social media, send with text messages, etc. The app gets a bad rap but it works great for those willing to read the instructions. I've had this camera a year and never had a problem with the SnapBridge app. As for shooting 4K video, the higher quality resolution will be of little benefit unless you have a 4K television or monitor to display the footage. It looks mighty fine in HD, to be sure, but colors really shimmer on a good 4K display. I offer three suggestions if you choose this model: get a padded camera bag to protect it (the unit is not waterproof) and buy at least one spare rechargeable battery. The superzoom on this camera is motorized and with frequent use it will drain the battery faster than any other operating factor. Without a lot of zooming around, expect to get about 400 shots on a fully charged battery. I find that number drops to 275-300 when shooting at sporting events from a fixed position, which requires a lot of reframing with the zoom to track the players and get in close. Finally, buy and carry with you an extra memory card -- at least 64 GB -- rated for speedy recording (60-90 MB/s) so you can take full advantage of the camera's capabilities. Cheap SD cards are not your friend and lead only to frustration. Cheers.

Decent Camera - Beware of SnapBridge & Zoom Focus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera takes very good pictures, when the zoom behaves. It has trouble focusing properly when fully zoomed. Biggest issue/con is the SnapBridge App for downloading photos from camera to my iPhone. I was able to connect it once but now cannot, even after uninstalling & reinstalling the app. Now I have to go into the store to meet with Geek Squad to try to resolve. Keep in mind, I'm tech savvy, and previously had a Sony Cybershot which uses the PlayMemories app - that app is effortless for transferring photos. So I'm not a novice at wirelessly transferring photos - SnapBridge is a huge PAIN to use. So if wireless transfer of photos is important to you, BEWARE. Because of the difficulty with SnapBridge I cannot recommend this. But if you don't care about that function, then maybe, just watch out for focus issues at full zoom.

An excellent lightweight camera
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I typically shoot Canon, with my DSLR being a 70D. The Nikon shoots great pictures, excellent video (4K) and the zoom is incredible. And, for me, the best part is not having to lug the DSLR plus lenses plus flash when not shooting at a fixed location. Is it as versatile as the DSLR with all the accessories? No. But for the vast majority of people it is more than capable of doing the job. And the price is right. My 28-300mm lens for the 70D is $700, plus the price of the camera. For under $500, you can get the Nikon with a 60x optical zoom, manual override (if you don't want to shoot in automatic mode), 4K video, and some excellent scene settings. Oh yeah, and you get Nikon quality pictures. What's not to like?

Nice but Get the Geek Protection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I had bought the camera at Best Buy with the Geek Protection. I bought it at a small camera shop. I have had Nikon cameras for over 30 years and this one seemed like a lightweight alternative to hauling the pro camera for essentially, snapshots. After waiting months for the camera to be released, it came in just as we were leaving on vacation. I took a few shots at home and it worked okay, so decided to take it instead of my pro gear because we were hauling an extra dog. After 75 photos the battery was low and wouldn't charge (it just drained what little charge was left in it). Used the iPhone the rest of the trip. When I returned home, I took it in at barely a month after purchase and couldn't exchange it. It was sent in to Nikon for a warranty repair to the main circuit board and also the auto focus. If it had not been under warranty the repairs would have cost $496. Yeah, same price as list and no it wasn't a replacement. The serial number told me that. Why they fiddled around with taking it apart instead of just replacing it is beyond me. On top of all that, the charging cord went in with it, since we didn't know if it was the cord or the camera with a problem. The cord that came back with it wasn't the Nikon cord. It was a cell phone cord with a tag on it from a cell phone provider. Now I am waiting for Nikon to replace the cord. Moral is, get the Geek Squad protection on this one. The Photos are decent and the camera is lightweight. Don't expect it to be a replacement to pro gear by any means. Get an extra battery and a wall charger you can stick the battery in to charge. If your are used to charging your camera in the car with an USB data port or in the backcountry with a battery pack or a solar panel, it won't charge. It pretends to charge and after the 3-5 hours of charging, the battery is deader than a door nail. Get plenty of extra batteries and charge them in the front country. The camera guide is very specific about not using any other charging device especially cell phone chargers or cords. Get the Geek protection. Take your cell phone if it has a camera. Or take a backup camera.

Disappointed and sad :(
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been deciding between this nikon and the new Sony for months now. I made the wrong choice!!! I'm so upset with my purchase. I take mainly animal photos and nature. I need a good action mode for dogs running, birds flying etc. Every photo I took was blurry. I have the Sony hx100 from years ago and it works way better than this nikon. Also if you zoom to close and it can't focus you have to turn it off and back on before it will focus again. Even if you zoom back out it will not refocus. I could have a defective camera which has happened to me with a previous nikon years ago. Returning this camera and buying the sony!

Bought Yesterday, Returning Today
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Wife and I went round and round as to which camera would be best for our family. We finally decided on this one. After unboxing it I started to take some pictures around the house and noticed that I had to ask the kids to remain perfectly still in order to get a decent photo. What is this 1845? Next, I wanted to see how well they would transfer to social media. I downloaded Nikon's SnapBridge app and attempted to connect the camera to my phone. I attempted this for the next 3 hours before I finally gave up and boxed the camera back up. I will be returning today. It's 2017... How difficult should it be to connect the camera to a phone via bluetooth?
