    Noisy Chip

There are pros and cons (for this and all other cameras). Pros: light weight and relatively small, long zoom range, pretty good image stabilization, sharp lens, fair picture quality in bright light. Cons: the imaging chip is contrasty and noisy. The camera is usable for having fun, but if you are serious about image quality you may be disappointed.

The camera is lightweight and pretty intuitive to use. Battery life is good. Zoom is fantastic. Many of my pictures are blurry, so I don't know if the focus is working correctly. Sometimes it seems to move very slowly between and during shooting. Verdict is inconclusive concerning this camera.

The P900's little brother with more punch. I have not had this camera very long to really find any flaws, but it performs as well or better than it's older cousin the P900. It is smaller and lighter than the P900. The controls are well laid out and have very positive action. Starts up quick and no shutter lag. I took several nighttime pictures, and although it takes longer to process the picture than those taken in more light, they came out great. The 60X zoom coupled with the 20 MP resolution makes it an ideal camera for nature and sightseeing. Very good price for this feature packed camera. Lots of creative control, but will shoot great picture just letting the camera make the adjustments in auto mode.

Easy to use but not your average point and shoot. Zoom is amazing. Used this at Disney world on our vacation. Took over 1500 pictures.

After much research of "point and shoot" cameras, I selected the Nikon Coolpix series. I needed to replace a very old Canon "point and shoot" digital camera. I selected the Nikon Coolpix B700 model for its tremendous versatility and zoom capabilities. The camera was fairly easy to setup and begin using. The Nikon SnapBridge process needs improving but even without it the camera functions great. The 20.2MP images are great quality and the zoom is high quality, especially when shooting sports activities. The Nikon Image Space that comes with this product is also an excellent bonus feature for image storage and "cloud" availability. I am exceptionally pleased with this camera.

This camera takes great pictures and is easy to use. We used this camera on a recent trip to Oregon and captured some great photos of the fantastic scenery. This camera is more compact than our SLR and takes comparable pictures with lots of options for a variety of modes.

Great single lens camera, with a very good zoom, but may require some support if shooting long zoom shots. I bought it because of the need for a viewfinder. Most cameras of this type do not have one and using it in sunlight is very frustrating. Don't expect the viewfinder to be like a single lens reflex because it has an electronic viewfinder which could be improved upon. But still a nice camera .

was looking to upgrade myself and researched several point & shoot cameras. decided on this model as it gave me the features I wanted to be able to shoot hockey. it more than doubled my optical zoom and in sports mode it shoots 3-5 photos in a second. I am very happy with it as the photos are very sharp and I can get up closer than ever to the action

I use this camera as a backup to my DSLR's. It is a great walk around camera with a long lens. A DSLR with a magnification equal to this camera would be very heavy. The camera is good but not perfect. You do not have controls over the operation like a DSLR. Also you can not take pictures while the camera is storing the photos but for the price it is one of the best long lens bridge cameras.

I bought this as a replacement for a 12 year old point and shoot camera that was having problems. I already have a Nikon D5300 which I like so looked for a point and shoot type. I settled on a Nikon B700. The camera itself is very good. Like the photos. Nice to handle. What is disappointing is to use a remote shutter control. There is no simple hand remote control you can get for most cameras. The remote is Nikon's smart phone app Snapbridge. Snapbridge might have good intentions, but is problematic. Might work about 50% of the time. Making the phone connect to the camera is hit or miss. I spend more time trying to connect the phone. I sure wish I could just get a simple hand remote shutter control. The camera is good but the Snapbridge app is no good. I recommend the camera, but understand no reliable remote shutter control.

This was an upgrade for me from the previous model, P520. I was replacing the old one after 4 years due to it not turning on anymore, which is likely my fault. I may have fried it trying to charge it off a car outlet. Otherwise, it was going strong and these cameras are a good investment. I use this camera to shoot and to document my art work and performance pieces. I have found the image/video quality up to snuff for art school and professional level work. The swivel screen in the back is tremendously helpful in shooting video and getting the odd shot. It is why I stuck with this model rather than upgrading to a larger DSLR. Also, a big seller for me, it shoots well in low light which I use for city scapes and video pieces. Video gets grainy at night, but that is to be expected; it does pretty well given the price point here. It is a solid camera that can easily get a student through school, or make for a high end family camera. If you are a photography student or enthusiast, you probably want to jump to a model with changeable lenses and more flexibility etc. It is compact enough to travel with and have very nice vacation photos, but you could find smaller models to do that with too. Check out the Sony mirrorless cameras if you're looking for a very compact quality travel camera. I still think video can't be beat here for a compact point and shoot with that swivel screen. Summery: Strong low light shooting Solid video capabilities Very useful fold out swivel screen Pretty compact, especially for what it has to offer No changeable lenses, so limited to what the zoom has to offer (which is fairly good)

I did a lot of specification comparisons and choose this camera based on the new option of shooting in RAW that the other cool pix cameras didn't offer. Very frustrated to find out that they can only be viewed using Nikon's programs, I was not able to view or edit the RAW in the photos program or PSE. The camera is very compact, easy to use and takes great pictures.

I really liked this camera and hated to return it. But the 7 minute limit for the 4k was a deal breaker. For people who only do short video clips then you will love this camera. Excellent photos also. My other camera is the Canon SX60. I think the Nikon B700 takes better photos and video. I prefer the SX60 mainly because it has a hot shoe and mic jack.

Cameras today do so many things and the Nikon B700 is no exception. Zoom in or zoom out. Take amazing stills or switch to video at the push of a button. I look forward to discovering all that this camera can do.

This is a great camera to replace my old one (Canon SX IS 500) that I had for 5 years. This camera is a big step up without venturing into a DSLR. Took some time to get adjusted, but now that I have used it I can say that it is fairly easy to use. There is a bit of a lag in changing some of the settings and some settings may not be as easy to use (than what I was used to with Canon). Yes, it is much bigger & more expensive that what I would prefer, but it was worth it!
