Wanted to purchase the P900 but when I learned about this , I waited and purchased it a few day after it got out . Tried it out as soon as I got it and loved it ever since , brought it to San Francisco and use the ultimate zoom capability and wasn’t disappointed with it . Love to zoom in on distant subjects especially ships and points of interests using video mode. Resolution is awesome for full HD but will need UV filter which is a must have for this camera . Will use more of this camera when going out sight seeing in the future .

We bought this just before going on a trip to Alaska. My wife already has a high end Nikon SLR but we cringed at the thought of bringing all of the various lenses we'd need. I admittedly was skeptical that the quality would be as good with this P1000 but I couldn't have been more wrong. With the zoom all the way in, the panoramic field captured was similar to seeing it with both eyes open. And when using the zoom, unbelievable clarity. We are so glad we purchased this lightweight champion!

Need something for bird watching had a P900 but wanted a better zoom. It is considerably larger than the 900 but I'm happy with it.

I bought this as a birthday present for my wife. She has several very good DSLR cameras, but none of them can come close to the zoom that this camera is capable of. It’s range and clarity are amazing. I highly recommend getting a good tripod for those exceptionally long shots as it’s difficult to hold still enough at super long ranges.

I’ve had more fun with this camera than any telescope I’ve ever used. The video quality is spectacular, and picture resolution does not disappoint. I am an astrophotographer and have captured better planetary and stellar footage than any of my friends with telescopes. Just be sure to get a sturdy tripod.

Fantastic zoom capability but the small sensor means you’re taking quite a few pics to get a good one. Too bad they didn’t increase the sensor. If you want a telescopic camera this one is it!

I was waiting for this camera to come out and it does not disappoint. This camera does many things (read specs). I am pleased with the photo quality using all the 125x telephoto. That being said, I do recommend getting the service plan, as I have needed it for almost all the Nikons I have owned.

This camera blew my mind from the minute I started to use it. Simple, well written manual. Absolutely stupid beautiful photos! Nikon has squeezed a $6000 capability into a $1000 package! I can’t believe the quality of images. Buy one. You won’t regret it...
