I love this camera. The zoom is fantastic, allowing remarkably sharp pictures of those far away subjects that you don't want to disturb or scare away. Very easy to switch between view-finder mode and screen mode. Great for nature shots. Video is very sharp and sound is accurate. One downside is getting used to focusing during video mode when the action is far away. And the view screen does not flip, rotate, tilt, etc. But that is not important to me, just a nice to have. Highly recommended. The shot attached was taken from 75 feet away.

Purchased the camera for the use of the eye piece in sunlight and dim light. Works perfectly and well worth purchasing the price was right and my photos are great

Great camera. Took beautiful pictures on our recent trip. Great for zooming in. Battery life was ssoooo much better than previous camera. The recharging is easy to do.

I love taking pictures of the moon and the zoom in this camera allows me to do so. All pictures in general come out beautifully. I bought one to give as a gift for an amateur photographer and he L-O-V-E-S it!

it does everything I wanted it to do... haven't taken many pics yet, but the moon pics were awesome! Made the moon look so close, you could reach out and touch it! Will have a lot of fun with this one!

Great value...less than $300. Has an adjustable viewfinder. 24mm to 1000mm optical zoom and can take filters. Sharp images at 1000mm. I bought a filter adaptor, polarizing filter and neutral density filter on Ebay for less than $30. I am an advanced amateur photographer and I'm very happy with the versatility and quality of this camera. No need for a DSLR.

I wanted a great camera with a fantastic zoom. But without all the bells and whistles. in my price range. This is IT! Pics from Grand Canyon are outstanding.

Nice and light. Easy to carry. Easy to use. Good Zoom. It used up the battery fairly quickly (good idea to have a spare battery). Sometimes a little slow in the trigger (slight hesitation between when you push the shutter and the camera clicks).

Like the good zoom capability and better lens than skinny pocket size digitals. Lots more features for someone wanting something more, but not hard to master options available. Another benefit over skinny slippery cameras; the slightly bulky body easy to hold, especially if you have arthritis in your hands but camera is not so heavy as a professional SLR.

I have used the Nikon Coolpix P530 for several weeks, taking many pictures and lots of videos, and have been very impressed with the image quality. The first thing I did was order several extra batteries and a charger kit, along with a 32gb SDHC memory card. The buttons and menus are very intuitive and easy to use. The 42X zoom lens is also very nice and takes great pictures at a distance. It takes very good quality HD videos. I filmed a 12 minute video at an indoor concert venue, 100 feet from the stage, and it turned out excellent. Very impressed with the low light capability of the videos. Recommend using a tripod for low light filming though. The P530 is also very light weight for it's size and fits well in your hands. Very easy to hold it steady while taking pictures or shooting video without a tripod. The video stabilization feature works very well. I would have liked to see MP4 format as an option for videos, but MOV is acceptable. Battery life is good for photos, but additional batteries are necessary for shooting HD video greater than about 45-60 minutes.

Pros: Love the zoom! Simply outstanding. Beautiful image quality. Easy to use but with some very nice advanced features, too. Has everything we needed for casual photography and taking photos for online sales. Great assortment of enhancements and utilities built in. The best image stabilization these shaky hands have ever seen. A pleasure to hold, too. Doesn't feel like I'm going to drop it when taking pictures out an open window or outdoors. CONS: NONE, especially at this price!

I have a digital SLR and purchased this camera to bridge a gap I had between some close in shots of moving ships so I would not have to change out my zoom lens on my SLR (which carries the danger of dust entering the SLR camera). The Coolpix P530 has such versatility, however, that I intend to start taking only this camera when I travel by air as it is much lighter and easier to carry than the much heavier and bulkier SLR and its associated lenses (which I fear to change due to constant problems with dust). While I'm not a professional, I would not call myself an amateur as I have over 25 years of ship photography under my belt. My wife also likes the Coolpix P530 as she is able to use it for her floral and wildlife pictures. Overall a much better camera than I expected for the price!

This is a great camera! Easy to use, lightweight and takes crisp clear photos. I bought it to take on a trip where I wanted a nice zoom feature. I'm confident that it will be just what I was looking for!

Takes excellent pictures. Easy to use. Can work as point and shoot or photographer can use manual settings. This is an moderately priced camera with high end quality photographs.

This camera is very easy to use. It takes great and very detailed pictures. The zoom capability is truly amazing. The timer feature for the photographer to get into the shot works well. We used this for landscape shots at Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Wildlife shoots. People pictures. It worked well under all circumstances. Even on a real cold the lens did not fog up with our respiration.

My old camera was dying and I knew it. Then it did die and I had to buy a new one fast. After going to a camera shop to have it declared a total goner, I asked what they had in a general point and shoot, over 20x zoom, with a view finder - really important when pointing into the sun plus it's a battery saver, and used a battery pack, not multiple AA batteries. I focused in on this one at $399 with a 50x zoom! Not bad. I asked how much batteries and cards were and the quotes were like $50 and $35. Wow. That's high maintenance. So I found this one which seems to be the same camera at $100 less ON SALE and cards and batteries also cheaper at BB. Didn't expect that! No time for heavy learning - gotta go and use it asap. Battery took 4 hours to charge up and I had to learn to listen for the click to make sure I actually got a picture, but I'm good. I got several photos of my steering wheel.... It seems to put itself in a sleep mode or just turn itself off which is a great battery saving device. Either that or I was accidentally turning it off.... Anyway, the photos are great. Auto-focus is pretty quick. Flash is quick. I'm just thrilled!

I have been in the market for a camera that produces quality images and is easy to use and have definitely found it with this product! I have a newborn and wanted to capture memories of her. The video and photo functions are easy to navigate. It's easy to fit in the diaper bag too!

I was looking for a smaller camera with big camera features and I found this one with great ratings. It fits easily into my purse and is not heavy to carry. Easy to use right out of the box. Highly recommend this for novice/medium photographers. Price was excellent - best price I could find.
