Great camera for trips--light, easy, and versatile

I had previously used film cameras and point-and-shoot digitals. I wanted something to replace my Nikon FM -- my favorite film SLR. This was cheaper than my previous setup, and its focal length handled the variety of several separate lenses. Had a wonderful time with it on my trip and it never let me down. Now that I have the time I'm eager to explore what else it can do. Some day I might get a full DSLR setup, but don't see why I need to at the moment.

Awesome camera and easy to use

I took my daughter's senior pictures with it and they look professional quality. I also took a photo of the full moon and was able to zoom in close enough to see the texture of the craters. This is the best camera I've ever used.

easy-to-use

Set the pixels. And shoot. It shuts itself down to save battery life. The only problem is that it also did not come with a standalone battery charger. It came with a cable charger that requires plugging in the entire camera.
