The camera itself is great...for about 5 pictures before the battery dies. I even bought another battery and a battery charger and still couldn't take more than a few pictures before it died. Sadly it will continue to be the most expensive paperweight I have ever owned.

I wasn't too impressed. I only use nikon because they are easy to use out of the back. It didn't perform well in low light. But gets the job done for basic needs! Spend a little more for much better quality and capabilities.

I have bought Nikon coolpix p530 and I am very happy with this camera. It has a lot of variable parameters, which can suite needs may be even professional photographer. In the same time I use auto mode and the camera takes excellent quality pictures even in very hard lighting conditions (dark or too bright conditions, see specification it has very wide range of exposure parameters such shutter speed, ISO and others). So far I almost do not use Flash, because the camera taking excellent pictures in most lighting conditions. The camera has option to save often used settings in User's profile U on the Mode Dial. Optical zoom x42 working excellent no matter if I am taking still images or in movie mode. Vibration compensation system VR, designed by Nikon working excellent. I checked it taking movie clip while being walking and results are excellent. I have turned OFF digital zoom in settings, because x42 optical zoom satisfies me fully. I have opened some pictures in Photo Now, zoomed them in and quality is excellent even with high magnification. I have taken a movie clip and played it on my Sharp wide screen 46 inch HD TV and quality is comparable with the movie taken using professional big camera for taking movies, which cost obviously more, then ten thousand dollars. I assume I have made excellent choice and I am very happy with my new camera Nikon Coolpix p530. Special Thanks to Nikon's designers.

I just got this camera yesterday(8/13/2014), and so far I'm having a ball with it. I'm still learning the basics and extras on it. I've been through simple film cameras/small digital ones, and was debating on weather to buy another one. I had canons before, and my last digital was a Nikon. I'm sort of a Nikon nut now! I never had any problems with those others, but I just wanted a different type, and I really like this one.

Just got my P530 and went out to play with it today. Got some great wildlife shots. Still have to learn a lot of the features, but so far the basic Auto shots are great.

I really dont understand how the P530 gets all the good reviews it does, This camera sucks.... I was very into film photography and have some nice equipment, but In this digital age, Im stuck with a bunch of obsolete film gear and I cant afford $2k for a decent DSLR set up so I tried the P530 out, Bad Idea... The only time it will take anything close to a decent photo is pretty close up with a lot of light and a flash, anything else and the quality is really bad.... You can take better pics with an iPhone.. (and its not the settings, I know my way around a camera) Buyer beware, the P530 is a big disappointment..

My camera died. This camera pales in comparison to my previous camera. There's a couple second delay in taking the photo. Quality is okay...but numerous shots need to be taken as the first few are blurs. If I had to do all over again, I would NOT buy this camera.

Can't recommend this camera. First many times the pictures are out of focus, have to turn camera off and back on and most of the time but not all, it will work. Other problem is when I zoom in it won't return, again, have to turn it off/on to get it back to normal. Difficult to navigate the menus and find the setting I want. Lens cover pops off way too easily exposing the lens to possible damage. Previous camera was a simple point and shoot and I feel the quality of shots was better.
