Customers appreciate the Coolpix P530's excellent picture quality and ease of use. Its lightweight and compact design makes it ideal for travel. However, some users mention that the battery life could be improved, and the lack of a tilting screen is a drawback for certain shooting styles. I wanted a little more then a basic point and click, this camera has nice options, great zoom, easy preset options, and the best part, is so easy to hang on to, and the viewer is large so you can actually see what you've just taken a picture of!

Great camera for the price. Has the controls to increase your knowledge of how to take charge of you photos if the auto control can not do the job. Great zoom without having to buy extra lenses. lighter then a HSLR . Good controls for editing.

I'm a sports and landscape photographer and needed the long zoom lens for animal photography. Just returned from 10 days in the circle of national parks in Southern Utah and was extremely happy with all features of the camera except for battery life which was a bit shorter than expected. Looking forward to our trip to Alaska next June

Must first clarify that my use for a camera is in challenging situations; home inspections. Poorly lit interior shots, dark attics and crawlspaces, in bright snow, dreary rain, very long hand held zooms, and more. The Nikon felt good in my hand (a personal thing), seemed ok in general situations, and at a good price. However, it took too long to focus (it tries to average over 6 or 8 focal points), or shot out-of-focus shots. The comparative spec review claim the Nikon has a stronger flash than a similar Canon, the flash was only good for short range shots (I need a good flash). I have always bought Canon (I was replacing a SX50), and missed a couple of minor features that Nikon does not have. A threaded mount at the end of the lens to accept filters or a lens hood (critical in rain or snow). Canon lens caps have a small clip that lets you hook it to the strap; not Nikon. Canon shoots much faster, and while it misses focus some times, fewer misses than the Nikon I had. Canon uses the same battery across several different models (I must have multiple batteries), Nikon does not. Canon gives you a stand-alone battery charger, Nikon makes you charge the battery in the camera unless you spend an extra #35. I use lots of manual settings; I had real trouble navigating the menus in the Nikon, and it had no setting for Flash On (it has a Fill Flash, but is not manually set). Ultimately I returned the camera (thank you Best Buy!!!), and paid an additional $200 for a Canon. Again, I liked the Nikon for several features. Would have liked some more time to play with it. The Nikon might be good for vacation use, and they probably make some great high end cameras, but this particular model was not sufficient for my business purposes.

For many years, when much younger, I lugged around a very heavy Nikon SLR in my camera bag, with wide angle lens, telephoto lenses, flash-pack and assorted accessories. The Nikon Coolpix P530 has been perfect for me, as It is lightweight, has an excellent wide angle-42x telephoto lens for a point-and -shoot camera, but at the same time it has many manual control feature options, making it a very versatile camera. I also love having the digital viewfinder when taking pictures in bright sunlight. I have been very happy with this camera, and plan to enjoy using it often in the years to come, taking pictures of my grandchildren.

The product is very good especially for everyday use i like it and with the lens that zoom you dont have to carry extra lens and spend time changing lens. the only thing i did not like about the package is the bag, i found out that the bag is too small dont know if its a mistake with the wrong one but i can't use it whenever i go somewhere and thats what takes away the fifth star.

While this camera isn't a DSLR replacement it does a great job of serving parental sports shooting near and far. The only complaint is with the difficulty of setting the speed shooting and indoor lighting features. The process is more involved than a novice would want and the "easy" menu is... not so much.
