this camera takes good pictures easy to use great for a beginner

I purchased this for my wife for her birthday. She wanted something better than a camera phone but smaller than our full size DSLR. This fits the bill. So far we really like the pictures and the ability to take HD movies.

Good camera for the price but am a little disappointed in battery and speed of zoom.there is a lag in focus when you zoom in and out which can be a problem with action shots.but great quality in pictures

I am so in love with this camera! My husband purchased for me as an anniversary gift and the 42X zoom is amazing. I can capture my son in perfect detail while running track or playing basketball.

Great action shots and easy to use. Take photos of dancing on stage and the quality is very good. Also great for pictures indoors and out in all types of weather. So happy with this camera. It sure beats my old one.

This camera has some wonderful features and makes really good pictures, once you learn all of the settings. That didn't take to long to do. I got for my son's wedding so I had plenty of time to learn how to work it.

I love this camera! First of all is a Nikon , and you can see the quality , it's the next best thing below a DSLR. The picture quality is excellent and the zoom is superb!

This is my first review on any product, and I must say I really love this Camera the pictures out so clear and its easy to use. The price was also a PLUS because I saved About 100$ plus for the Mothers day sale.. OverAll I would buy this camera again. This Camera also does a lot more take pictures it is a video Camera too!

I only purchased this camera as a gift for a relative (who specifically wanted this model) based on recommendations from other family members. I am a semi-professional photographer and have owned close to a dozen digital cameras over the last 12 years - ranging from the 1st generation CoolPix, to several compact point-and-shoots by makers such as Minolta, Panasonic, Fuji, Sony etc. as well as a couple of Nikon DSLRs. I had the opportunity to use this camera to photograph a recent event and found it performed poorly compared to my superb Olympus TG-850 and even my older Nikon D80. Taking photos indoors or in poor light really slowed the camera down to such an extent that I was missing shots - camera lag was really bad unless the camera was in "Auto" mode using the flash - and even then there was a noticeable delay. I could go on, but the bottom line: not getting the photo when I press the button is a deal-breaker for me. In my opinion this camera (and others in the entire "bridge" category) is a waste of time for the casual photographer - its features are average, the sensor is poor, it's bulky and awkward. It's a glorified compact masquerading as a DSLR. Even if you think of yourself as a "better-than-average" photographer you'd be better off getting a really great true compact camera like the Olympus TG-series, or even a Panasonic Lumix - these compact cameras take great pictures, are fast, easy to use and tough-as-nails - and - most importantly - you will actually use it.

This camera takes great pictures, but the body feels like cheap plastic. Its light weight contributes to that. The viewfinder is a nice feature, but is hard to focus. Overall, it is a pretty good camera.
