I was looking for a simple camera to replace my D-90. After much research, I decided on this COOLPIX P900. It may have a few quirks, but the bottom line is the quality photos that it produces. The zoom is incredible. I feel I made a good purchase.

I actually have the predecessor to this camera, the P500, which I love. So when I bought this camera I had an idea of what the camera maybe able to do. This camera has all the features, from what I have read and more. I haven't used all the features as of yet, such as the wi-fi feature, but a small trip to Gettysburg, PA with this camera was greatly enhanced. The picture quality was better than expected with the 16 mp. The weight of the camera was a little heavier than I thought it would be but it doesn't affect my picture taking. Just enjoyed the camera as a whole.

This is an excellent digital camera with the best (and highest) optical magnification factor (83X). Very easy to operate. High-quality image. Reasonable price for a high-end digital camera.

I enjoy birding and have dealt with a bulky 400mm lenses camera until a friend told me of the P900. This is a high quality camera that is light weight with an incredible 800mm zoom. Perfect to bring along your nature walks.

This camera takes amazing pictures!! I bought this as I tired of carrying multiple heavy lens. This camera is a bit larger and heavier than others due to size and length of lens. This is still much less than those extra lenses. Zoom is amazing! Love this camera and would buy again.

Bought for wife as she didn't like changing lenses on my 7200. Camera easy to use out of the box. Images are clear and color good. When shooting at long telephoto camera needs to be supported or braced as image stabilization ineffective. No other complaints and wife loves camera.

Great camera can zoom in tight on the moon even see the craters

Lacks Raw, and some other features, should be a DSLR, but over all wonderful camera

The times I have used the camera I’m very pleased with its quality and features.

This camera is larger and heavier than other super zoom cameras, as well as more expensive. Would recommend with reservations. If the very long zoom is your main interest, this could work for you. Takes good pictures for a point and shoot. Tripod, monopod, or other support is helpful if zooming out to the max.

I have a Nikon DSLR with several lenses that I love. But it is hard for me to carry around and change lenses when we're on shore excursions on our cruises. This is a lighter weight point and shoot that produces excellent pictures, even from long distances.

Pros: It takes good pictures of the moon can see the craters. Good scenery shots can see people about 2 miles away. It is easy to use for a beginner and not to hard to master the menus. You can also shoot in manual mode if so desired. Cons: None so far.

It was either this one or the P1000.....this was on sale so went for it, The camera can easily take shots of the moon without a tripod. Tried it both ways.. one on tripod and remote and another with freehand. Found it can easily go out of focus on a tripod, but I have excellent shots of the moon craters just holding the camera steady. Would recommend if you like to zoom on things far away. Night shots are not so great, but sun up to sundown it works. Will probably get the P1000 also... 3000mm zoooooooom! Why not? If you can’t get an expensive telescope or lens, then go for this, just remember that it is not a sealed lens and could collect dust or debris outdoors. It will be a fun camera once storm season hits in Oklahoma....

Great little camera for a beginner with an Awesome 83X zoom. Takes great pictures also.

I bought this 100% for the 83X Optical Zoom. It literally is incredible how much can be photographed with this VERY powerful zoom. I am also delighted that the Macro shots and video are so much better quality than I thought they would be.

Waited for this camera for a long time. it does what they say, Really like it for the everyday shot. A little soft on the far end, but worth the wait.

this is my first camera ever which normally used iPhone for pic, but i love this
