I have been thinking about getting this camera for a very long time now. My major concern has been the price. With the price finally coming down everywhere I made my decision and am very happy for it. Things I learned already. I have a steady hand and for most shots that's great but trying to zoom in on Jupiter I really needed a steady tripod and the timer function. I will say that I am getting spectacular pictures and feel it was well worth the investment.

I have no regrets about purchasing this camera. For one thing it had a price point that made total sense for my budget. I was about to spend much more on a DSLR body with a separate lens until I learned that the zoom capabilities were significantly inferior. I had been using a 23x zoom which was also a Nikon camera and knew I would be miserable not being able to achieve better zoom ratios with the other brands of cameras and lenses. I've been using digital cameras for a long time so I'm familiar with the overall features and what to expect. This camera exceeds my expectations. At 83X zoom I can take clear pictures of the terrain of the moon! That's impressive! For my practical purposes I doubt there is anything this camera can't do that another camera can. It truly is a 'smart' choice for me in smart digital camera technology.

I had tried the D3400 Nikon but didn't care for changing lenses all the time. This Nikon P900 takes unbelievable pictures of the moon, nature shots, and sports (action) shots. Very happy with the clarity of the pictures, and how it feels I. The hand. It's a little large, but much easier than always changing lenses and carrying extra lenses with you. I love this camera I use it for bird watching etc. It is everything I expected.

This camera is just the best in its kind, zoom, time laps its awesome.

I love this camera. It is easy to use in auto mode and you are also able to configure it to the lighting and effects that you want to get.

The picture and video quality could be better but overall not a bad camera. *** Pros: *** Great reach: See the photos I took and keep in mind that I was nowhere near these creatures. Getting close would cause them to run or fly away so having a super zoom is really helpful. Also works like a macro lens without having scaring off subjects by trying to get too close to them. Decent images: Yes the images and videos could be better but the good thing is they can be cleaned up pretty good in editors like Lightroom. Price: This is the cheapest camera I own and for the image/video quality, amount of zoom you get it's well worth having. Stabilization: It has optical stabilization that works pretty darn good. All the images I took were hand held. Continous Shooting: Up to 7fps at 16mp. I just figured out it has this. I wish I would have known when trying to capture the hummingbird photos. Manual Focus: There is no focus ring but it does have a focusing slider with peeking and it works pretty. *** Cons *** Only takes jpg: I wish it shot raw photos because the jpgs are way over saturated but can be corrected a bit in an image editor like Lightroom. Preview: I don't always shoot in burst mode but having to preview each image after shooting can cause you to lose a shot . I wish I could turn on the image preview. No Touch Screen: It would be nice if it had a touch screen at least for hitting focus points. No Mic Input: I really don't like not having an option for an external mic. No Hot Shoe: It has a pop up flash but when the lens sticks out you get a shadow. Plus it would be nice to be able to add an accessory like a light or a mic... oh wait, there is no mic input. Overall this is no pro camera but what it is, is a really fun camera for getting shots you would normally not be able to get. The image quality is decent as long as you do a little cleanup in an editor like Lightroom. I almost returned this camera but after having some time with it I decided to keep it. It's long zoom and decent image quality makes it unique to my small of cameras and makes it useful.

The best feature of this camera is the zoom it is incredible,no need for bigger lenses.the picture quality is excellent and basically all it's features. If zoom is what your looking for this is the one.great buy. I also tried the moon picture test with a tripod and it certainly took that picture.

I was very surprised at how well the long zoom on this camera works. Lighting is still a factor in the clarity of pics. As well you really need to use a tripod for those longer zooms.It is great for birding which is one of my loves.I have yet to experience everything on this camera as it has several features. The 360 panoramic is so cool!. It also takes great video.

This camera does amazingly well for what it was designed for. This is a super super zoom camera. It has an uncanny way of holding the focus at long-distances. It also does strikingly well for landscapes and color. Low light is not it's forte but it was not designed for that. If you are into zooming in on distant objects then this camera is an excellent purchase.

I LOVE my new camera. I didn't think I'd change lenses much, so I decided to buy this one with the 83x zoom. It does an amazing job and I carry it with me everywhere. It's everything I wanted in a camera and pretty easy to use, although I look forward to reading the manual for further information.

Excellent for tracking birds in flight and animals on the run. Nothing is too small and nothing is too far away. Mountain goats so high on the mountain that you can't see with the naked eye are within range for good photos. The best camera I have ever had.

I love this camera! The zoom is great! It's lightweight. We usually hike a little to get our photos. I don't have to worry about which lens to use because it has it all! Uploading photos to my phone is easy. Can't say enough about this camera.

The NIKON P900 is the best camera I have ever owned ... Especially for BIRDing... This camera has a ZOOM like I have never seen and it is easy to use right out of the box... The presets are fantastic...

If you're on the fence...get off!! This camera is wonderful! I have always been a Canon user but wanted something with superzoom for a trip I'm taking soon. I took pics of the moon a few nights ago with no tripod and was amazed at the results. Also took pics of an osprey on a radio tower a mile and a half from my home, didn't even have it in the correct setting and they were amazing! Occasionally the autofocus takes a second but not enough of a worry to sway me from 5 stars (I'd give it 10 if I could). I'm definitely not a professional but I love taking pictures, and take a lot. Can't wait to take pics on my trip and will love not having to carry around all the weight of extra lenses.

I bought this camera right before taking a trip to Ireland/Scotland in the hopes of getting some great photos. The results far exceeded my expectations! There are so many features to this camera, that you can capture macro shots, as well as long distance close-ups. All in sharp clarity and amazing colors! I am an amateur, but I felt like a professional using this camera.

I bought this camera to start a hobby of taking nature shots. This camera does the trick and then some. The 2000mm zoom on this guy is so much fun! From craters on the moon to a small bird in a tree 100 yards away this camera will get the shot. Does great close ups too. If i went with a DSLR I would have had to spend a fortune buying different lenses and go through a steep learning curve to do what i can do with this bridge camera. There are cameras with larger sensors but i cant tell the difference. I have been posting a pic of the day on FB, and have been getting great reviews. Everyone asks "What camera are you using?"
