Customers are saying

Customers commend the COOLPIX P900's impressive zoom capabilities, ease of use, and picture quality, frequently citing its lightweight design as a positive attribute. However, some users experienced challenges with focusing, particularly in low-light conditions, and noted the camera's relatively large size. The camera's value for its price point was also frequently mentioned.

Really good camera for the money. Super zoom and crisp clear pics on zoom. Not that heavy to lug around. Do need a tripod though, for the zoom, to reduce camera shake.

I bought this camera mainly for the zoom and it meets all expectations. It has an auto zoom setting where it adjusts everything for you and you can actually zoom too much and have to back off a bit to get the whole moon in the photo. I was able to zoom in on some migrating geese that were too far away to see with the naked eye. I'll attach the photo. It's heavier than my Nikon D3300, but for far away shots I'll be using the P900.

I love this camera. I just got it and took it on a trip to Colorado and it did not disappoint. It’s easy to use and I like the picture quality. It’s no DSLR but if your not a professional photographer and just enjoy taking pictures and getting some developed this is a great point and shoot camera. I enjoy using it to take pics of wildlife, sunsets, and my dogs! I’ve included some pictures from my recent trip in the Rocky Mountain National Park.

I like the functionality of the camera very much, but the app Nikon provides for downloading to mobile devices is basic and unintuitive. The app cannot download video from the camera, I have to remove the memory card and download to a computer. I took a photo of the full moon with this camera. I didn’t need to use a tripod. The image stabilization is that good.

I bought this camera for the zoom function, especially after seeing moon close ups. It was impressive, however the manual focus is very cumbersome and I ended up returning it because of it. If this camera had a focus ring, it would be perfect.

I'm restarting my amateur photography passion and reviewing dslr cameras for the last year I found myself settling for the Nikon Coolpics P900 as it has all the zoom functions I need without having to carry extra equipment such as lenses. The camera has what I need to start my photography hobby and it fits in a small camera bag that is not bulky at all which makes hiking the back country still enjoyable without the bulk of other camera systems. I am very pleased with my selection and I am getting rave reviews on the pictures I share on Facebook.

I have a smaller Nikon P500 camera, but it just doesn't have the lens for taking good wildlife shots. So I upgraded to the P900 and have been thrilled with the images I have been taking. We just went to Chincoteague Island for a couple days, and wanted to get some good pics of the horses. But they were about a half mile out in the marshland - way too far for the P500! But the P900 worked well within the range of the camera lens, and took some stunning shots of the horses! Great camera at a great price!

We were looking for a 'bridge' camera as we wanted to take good wildlife pictures here at the beach but did not want to fiddle and change lenses in such a sandy and salty environment. The Nikon Cool Pix P900 takes excellent pictures and the large zoom range makes taking beach wildlife photos easy! A great 'bridge' camera.

I've watched videos online of people using this camera for amazing photos of the moon. I purchased it to do the same and I have some incredible shots. Not only of the moon, but of other things that would be too far for other cameras. The 83X Optical Zoom is simply amazing.

I recently took my new camera on a cruise and got some great pics in St. Thomas and St. Maarten one night while on the balcony with a full moon, I took some incredible shots of the moon, when friends saw the craters of the moon they wouldn't believe I shot it with the P900

I'm a birder and this camera has enhanced my daily birding experience. I'm no photographer but the Nikon P900 makes me feel like one. I recently used at my niece's graduation and the family was very happy with my photo results. It's a terrific all around camera.

It's not so heavy like my old camera Nikon 5300. And no need to change lens. Most of all, this camera can take far away object. Excellent for me to take photos of birds.
