I have been using this camera for about a month now. I was hesitant at first, because, honestly, how well could a $599 camera perform? I've been blown away. I'd absolutely purchase again. I might even buy another one just to have a backup. Attached is a photo that I would have missed out on without this camera.

I had a previous model of this camera and loved that camera. When I saw this one coming out in April I sold my previous one to get this one. I love this camera. Easy to use, understanding how to use is simple, colors phenomenal and I so enjoy the zoom lens. Takes a little getting use to focusing. No negative comments. Love this camera!! Buy this gem for lasting memories!!

A good option for people who enjoy the ease of use of a point and shoot and is looking to move a step further without compromising much on the ease of use. It has an amazing zoom threatening other DLSRs paired with tele-photo lenses. It provides a decent functionality on adjusting ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture. A fast auto-focus along with a massive zoom range makes this an excellent option for bird watching and wildlife photography, where taking pictures quickly is a priority. If you are planning to use this camera on its higher zoom settings, it is highly recommended that you use it with a tripod.

Love my new camera! Easy to hold and take quick pics with! Tried out several cameras in the store and this one had awesome zoom. Can get really great pics far away. Great for when you can't get really close to wildlife!!!! Just zoom in and it's like you were standing a few feet away! Very easy to use!

While I spend an above average time in the outdoors (fishing, hunting, hiking, and biking), I’m definitely not a hard-core bird watcher. However, after being “buzzed” a number of times a few years back, while out turkey hunting (with my kids perhaps enjoying this spectacle a bit too much at my expense), I became very interested in learning more about the birds of prey in our area, an in being able to identify them. This inspired me recently to look into getting a new point & shoot camera. By now I had given away a 35mm SLR (before digital days), and an inexpensive digital p&s (in early digital days), and favoring the convenience of my iPhone camera. After doing several weeks of research a few months back, I quickly moved up the chain of less expensive p&s choices and landed on the Canon SX60HS. Nearly all of the reviews that I read picked this camera over other offerings including Nikon’s P610 and the P900. However, a couple reviews got me to at least “think” about these two Nikon models. (Note: at the time the P610 was not easy to find and was scheduled to be replace by the B700.) Before making a final decision I wanted to “feel and touch” these cameras, so I located a nearby Best Buy that had the SX60HS in stock and a few other cameras included in the reviews I read. One of the other cameras was the P900. I picked up the SX60HS first, and fiddled with it for several minutes in the store. Then I picked up the P900. I was immediately impressed with its feel and ease of focusing in particular compared to the SX60HS. While the reviews had me convinced before coming into the store that I was here to purchase the SX60HS, I found myself unable to deny the difference in feel and ease I was experiencing “hands-on” at that moment with the P900. I spent the next hour or so going back and forth with these two cameras there in the store, fiddling with the controls, settings, focusing on things near and far, as my wife and the salesperson patiently allowed me to compare these two cameras. Before purchasing the P900 I asked the Best Buy salesperson if I could bring it back if I wasn’t happy with it. He reminded me of the return policy they offer saying, “we want you to be happy with your purchase too.” Since then, I’ve never once thought about returning this camera. Yes, it is a bigger camera than I ever thought I’d buy for my desired use in the outdoors. However, after trying it out first at our local zoo, and using it now several times out in the field, I have absolutely no regrets that I went with the P900. I’m truly thrilled by its zooming capability, which I can only describe as “insane” (unbelievable). Its feel and handling, the simplicity of accessing and using its essential basic features, and the ease of focusing continue to impress me every time I use it. And I look forward as well to learning about its advanced features now and “growing” into using this camera to more of its full potential.

I originally purchased this camera as a replacement for my mother's camera. After briefly using to learn it so I could help her with it, I decided to get one for myself. The zoom is the main selling point on this camera, but I do recommend a tripod or monopod at the least when shooting at zoom. I do have a few minor complaints about the P900. I feel the user menu is a bit simplified more than need. Sometimes when zooming the autofocus has trouble locking on to your subject if there are other objects between you and your subject, This can be a bit annoying when photography birds and wildlife. And I do wish the burst mode was adjustable, 7 shots a second can sometimes be a bit much, then you have to wait for the camera to write the images to your memory card. But overall I am happy with

I got this camera simply because I enjoy long zoom and playing with telescope, this camera is very easy to use and the focus is very accurate. If I need to be picky on P900, I would say the the build quality is not the best, the filter ring is plastic(better than nothing). Anyway, it is a really fun camera to have.

I purchased this camera to replace my older Nikon P510. The P900 is perfect for my needs. Photos are very good. The zoom reaches an unbelievable distance and still holds together well with good clarity. I use the camera for work and have to shoot in a wide variety of situations, low light, distance, macro etc and often in very constricted time frames and on the move. The P900 is snappy and responsive. Very fast startup to shooting time and the menus are fairly easy to navigate. It's quite a bit larger than the P510 and bulky on the supplied neck strap. I solved this by grabbing a Black Rapid Metro light shoulder sling and an OP/TECH D-SLR Digital D Series Soft Pouch (get their spring loaded Fast Cap lens cover too...). Super easy setup and is better than the P510 was on the neck strap.

One of the best bridge cameras Nikon has put on the market. Takes fantastic pictures and excels in telephoto and micro capabilities. Not a professional camera, but for vacation and all in one nature camera, this is one of the best out there. Quite large, but much better than lugging around one camera with a bunch of lenses. This camera has yet to let me down.

I always take a camera when I walk (hike) with my dogs, and this is a great camera for that. The size is bigger than my SLR, but it's lighter and I don't have to worry about dropping lenses when I need to change them. Pictures are great! Zoom is wonderful!

Because of the extreme telefoto - 2000mm equivalent I was hesitant about the claims of stable shooting. I have shot quite a few pictures, handheld - the moon, birds across a double-wide street, a squirrel in a tree. I am amazed by the results.. I rode around a State Park and shot flower close-ups from the drivers seat and fantastic close-ups all handheld. It is easy to operate and with the 32GB card will take over 3000 pictures at a time. I have been bragging about it on FB, to my friends.

I was caught off guard by the size and weight, but considering the huge zoom I'm not disappointed. Had my camera only a couple of weeks and have not yet had the opportunity to try it out on a variety of subjects but already impressed with the quality of photos. An awesome camera, unbelievable zoom and price is right too.

We take almost exclusively outdoor photos; landscape, birds and wildlife and were looking for an upgrade in a megazoom point and shoot from our Cannon Power Shot SX60HS. The Nikon is significantly more expensive but not significantly higher quality images as far as zoom is concerned. We compared images taken side by side with the two cameras and sometimes one camera and sometimes the other seemed better, meaning sharper at high zoom and long distance. I do give the Nikon the nod in color quality. It is easy to use and understand but I could wish it had more range of control in Manual mode. Would I buy this camera again? Well, I didn't return it to Best Buy so I guess I was happy enough with it but mildly disappointed that it wasn't much better than the Cannon.

I've had the P900 for about 4 weeks and used it frequently. It's heavier and bulkier than my old compact zoom (a 30x Sony), but it seems to be well made and is easy to use. I've run sharpness tests on the camera lens and it did very well, although a little softer at 83x zoom, as might be expected. Wow, 83x zoom is very powerful and I'm looking forward to using the camera for wildlife in Africa next month. This is a beautiful camera, but it's not for the faint-of-heart. But if you're up to it, go for it.

Outstanding zoom capabilities. Good quality pictures. I had an issue with focusing on a hummingbirds, it was frustrating to get a clear focus on them, so I had to take my old D7000 and it did a job fast and sufficient. Overall this is a great camera, but if you have a decent DSLR, you may be not that happy about keeping it, unless you are going to have it especially for a super zoom capabilities. If you are looking for a good all situations camera, this could be a great one.
