Customers commend the COOLPIX P900's impressive zoom capabilities, ease of use, and picture quality, frequently citing its lightweight design as a positive attribute. However, some users experienced challenges with focusing, particularly in low-light conditions, and noted the camera's relatively large size. The camera's value for its price point was also frequently mentioned.

Sick zoom, great macro, great image, all you can look for it in a coolpix with a zoom over 1000$ value.

I've purchased since friend recommended it after my good camera died and I've seen her incredible zoomed-in photos. I've practiced with point-n-shoot for a week; easy to use. It can do so much more but haven't needed to do any special adjustments for good photos. It is heavy but you get used to it. On sale, you can't beat the price for such a fabulous camera.

I’m am just an amateur photographer. I’ve only ever used a DSLR camera and have been lucky to get some nice shots. I love that camera and will still use it for rapid and low light conditions, but found to get the magnification I would like and/or need in some situations, I would have to spend thousands on a new lens. A friend recommended the Nikon p900. It has a number of shooting options and magnification of up to 83x zoom. The quality of pictures I’ve been able to obtain in just the week or so I have had the camera have been great. There are a few downsides for me so far they are: 01. The camera does not shoot RAW, and 02. The camera is front heavy when the zoom is fully extended. This allows for some motion noise, even with the stabilization, 03. It has a small sensor compared to a DSLR, so some quality is lost. However, the zoom is fabulous, it has yielded great results the few times I’ve used it so far. Offers a lot for a point and shoot camera, especially if you are just a hobbiest. I’m looking forward to find out more and shooting in the various modes it offers. For the price and what I wanted to use it for (scenery and wildlife), I couldn’t be happier. Thanks

Astounding zoom lens range. Best image quality if used at ISO 100 and on a tripod. Not an overall great camera for general use. Purpose is everything, you must know why you are buying this camera. I wanted to do moon and sun photography, which is a pretty fair application of it's capabilities. It has 67mm threads for filters, i.e. a solar filter. Much lighter weight and easier handling than a full DSLR with heavy lenses. For serious photographers, you can't expect superior image quality out of such a tiny chip. Know your purpose.

I am a avid bird watcher and have always been disappointed with the quality of the pictures that I take with a smartphone or a point and shoot style camera. The lack of ability to zoom in enough with these two camera types didn't allow me to get photos that I could use to identify the bird species. The Nikon - Coolpix P900 gives me the ability to zoom in and take pictures with amazing clarity. Great camera to bring the subject close to you. I am very pleased with the zoom capabilties of this camera.

Loved the zoom range but the camera was large heavy like a DSLR. Not a small point and shoot camera.

The Nikon, Coolpix P900 is a excellent point and shoot camera with a outstanding 83x zoom on it which equals a 2000 mm lens. I do recommend getting a tripod with this camera for taking the 83x zoom pics on it. The camera is a little heavy but still lighter than a camera with a 2000mm lens on it. For close-ups or long distance photos you just can't go wrong with this camera for the price. Great camera and so far I really enjoy using it and the pics I get from it. Love it!

This camera is amazing for beginners who just want to have some fun shooting. It's quite the telescope of a camera and you can get amazing shots with little effort with its scene setting, but manual is great too. Does not shoot in RAW but you hardly need to with these types of photos. Loads of fun.

easy set up, battery holds the charge very well. Much lighter than our D3400 and seems to have more zoom for those pictures that are far away. Have taken it on two trips and are quite pleased with our pictures. Have not interfaced our phones with the camera yet but we would purchase this again

I generally shoot with Canon 70D and 7D Mark ii, however, when birding I use this camera. It is lightweight, excellent zoom and pretty sharp images for a point and shoot. Excellent value.

I took this camera recently to Iceland and Sweden. Because of the extremely cold conditions this time of year, I didn't want to be constantly changing lenses. This camera was perfect. I photographed glaciers, geysers, waterfalls, ice caves and assorted scenery without any hassle. I took extra batteries as the cold weather wore them down quickly. This camera takes beautiful pictures in all environments without any loss of quality.

I bought this camera for me wife's birthday, she aspires to be an amateur photographer. SHE LOVES IT! She's since given away her Cannon and 3 additional lens. We live in the desert and she can sit on the patio and take pictures of desert animal barely visible to the human eye.

I am not yet ready to jump into using a DSLR camera and wanted something bigger than my pocket point and shoot. This camera provides the best of both worlds. I can leave it in auto move and take great shots or I can use the manual mode and set the various aspects myself. The zoom on this camera is exactly what I wanted in order to get up close and personal without having to change from lens to lens
The test came when I took it to the Grand Canyon and was able to take wide and super close up shots. It was the perfect workhorse for the trip. The weight of the camera is not cumbersome
I am able to obtain additions such polarized filters, wide angle and macro lenses.
It has been the best investment in my book and look forward to using it for many years to come

I got this mainly for taking bird photos. It's pretty good in sunlight, but just as I read in many reviews, not so great in low light. Photos seem very grainy on overcast days. I haven't learned everything on it yet, so maybe I'm missing something. Great zoom!

I got this after an acquintance told me he took a picture with his P900 of the moon during the daytime and could see the clearly see the moon's craters in the photo - hand holding the camera. I bought it and duplicated the moon pic at a 4th of July barbeque. I was amazed and so were the people at the bbque. It was at the beach and I then took a picture of a schooner that was about a mile out from the beach. In that pic we could see the people on the deck and an advert sign for the schooner. It is great for portraits because you can be so far away from people they can't imagine you are taking a full head shot of them from 50 feet away. I do wish it had a better macro mode, but the lens isn't ideal for close-up macro flower pics. Also the manual focus is a bit difficult to use, but I'm pleased with the camera.

This camera has a wide range of settings for close up or zoom, without changing lenses, is lightweight for travel and seems fairly easy to use. While this camera is perfect for me for amateur nature photography, it does not have the pixels for enlarging like a full Nikon DSLR camera or features needed by a professsional.

Popped this on my tripod the first night I received it. I saw the moon through the lens (at 83x) like I'd never seen it before in person. The Time-Lapse, Night setting, creates incredible movies at 1920x1080 resolution. It's amazing to see what occurs in the sky at night, even on the darkest nights. The only drawback I've found is its limited WiFi capability. It only works with smartphones and tablets, not laptops.
