Hi ;-) I purchased the p900, one 32gig SD card, a case that fits the camera, and extra battery. Out of the box, connect the strap. Insert the battery and SD card. The battery had power (thumbs up). Prompt you to enter language, date and time. Remove lenses cover and started taking photos in auto mode. And video. Easy and fun. Like from two inches away or zoom out across the field. Has a ton of settings you can use and learn. But In auto mode I was impressed with that. Thanks for reading I like the p900.

This Nikon caamera has almost every feature you could imagine. Each time I use it, I find something different it can do. The 83X zoom gives you the ability to take pictures far away. I was even able to get close up pictures of the full moon and when taking some wide angle pictures of a group of people it worked perfect. When printing my pictures, everything was clear and the images were sharp.

    Great camera for birding

For many years I've enjoyed the convenience & easy handling of Canon long zoom point & shoot cameras for birding, but when my SX40 wore out, I thought I wanted an SLR. I couldn't find what I needed in my price range. The Nikon Coolpix P900 is a great compromise! This convenient camera takes sharp photos both close up & far away, and it actually focuses on a tiny hummingbird instead of always wanting to focus on the background. It is heavier than I am used to, but certainly not as cumbersome as an SLR with 2 lenses. Be aware that you will probably want to buy a separate battery charger because the camera doesn't come with one & requires charging the batteries in the camera. The Nikon MH-67P is the only charger recommended. I had to buy mine online from an outside source because Best Buy didn't carry them.

Camera is not a small point and shoot. Size in more like a through-the-lens model. Weight is more than I thought. First pictures were great.

The camera is unique in the fact that it has a zoom capacity of 83x. That was my main reason to purchase. Best Buy was one of the few stores in the USA that carried it.

Love this camera! Purchased it as a second camera to grab and go when I don't want to lug around my other Nikon with detachable lenses and accessories. The powerful zoom is great! Definitely recommend.

You will not find such zoom anywhere. The best zoom in 1080P in the market. Photos look great from really far away. Must have for a cruise trip. Amazing Moon watching. Can’t wait for 4K version!

Went with P900 after purchasing D3400 - Nikon's . P900 is a breeze to use! Pictures are crisp and color is right on - because the multiple settings available cover just about any scenario. It is fun to use! A little on the heavy side?? OK, but I don't mind; it is easy to handle. Camera gets 5 stars. Cons: the app for transferring to smartphone. the Nikon WMU for the 900 as well as snapbridge and Nikon Image are a pain and not worth the effort. 1 Star for the apps

Camera is quite the performer! This will be my sightseeing/travel camera because of its remarkable zoom capabilities. Another convenience is the wifi, which allows you to upload your photos to a smart device.

I purchased this right before a vacation to Hawaii and only took the time to read the quick start guide. It gave me enough information that I was able to take some great photos and videos on our trip. The zoom capability on this camera is amazing! It got us real close to the volcano action. The only thing I wasn't able to figure out intuitively was transferring pictures and videos to my phone so I could post to Facebook.

If you like zooming in on things in nature, etc., this camera has an awesome zoom while staying very clear. I usually have my Canon DSLR with me but we keep this one as well for getting shots that the DSLR cannot get with just a normal lens. Very easy to use, durable, great battery life. We're very pleased with this purchase. We did buy an aftermarket heavier strap from Best Buy which made a big difference on our hikes.
