I am more of an experienced hobby photographer. Been taking pictures as long as I can remember. Always wanted them to be just a little better. Clearer, More zoomed in. I got some awesome views of the full moon last month and am so pleased. Just what I needed. Now I just have to learn how to do more things this sweet camera is capable of.

I have been reading about this camera for months and drooling over the videos on youtube. I bought it for the zoom capability, which is amazing. But the general feel and use of the camera are great too. I cannot wait to take it out in the wilderness and get some amazing shots. A great camera for a great price.

This camera was purchased for one reason, the Zoom, it is amazing and is lots of fun zooming in on something to see its pores. There are smaller cameras that have optics and other features just as good but not the zoom. If you can get past the size and have a steady hand when zooming this is a great camera.

The sales associate at the Myrtle Beach store recommended this camera, she said she owns it and it takes phenomenal pictures. She was right!

You probably already know that this camera can do an optical zoom-in just like a 2000mm lens can. Digital Camera, means it's got a very small sensor size compared to DSLRs. Picture quality is great as it is so avoid cropping photo or else you'll see the pixels. The only sad thing i encounter is how the battery get siphoned really quick and cam has charging problems as well, but if you have a separate charger and extra battery then you should be alright. Also buy a fluid head tripod for extra steady zoom.

I started with the p500 and have bought each new version. The p900 is unique in that it is much larger than predecessors but with greater capabilities. Picture quality is excellent., zoom is amazing. There may be better cameras but they are probably a lot more complicated. If you want simplicity with superb results, this is the product to have.

Great quality pictures. Much to learn and is sad that Nikon can not include the manual with the camera. It is available to download but would be nice if it came in the box. It is bulky so is not small enough to slip into a purse it that is what you are looking for. It is really a super quality camera.

I used to have the older model for CoolPix before and it was a really good camera especially when you are doing surveys. When this model came out, without thinking twice, i bought it and all my expectation exceeded for this camera. easy to use and the zoom is perfect for long range.

This has features that I had been looking for. I love to take pictures of the moon and planets. It is great for close up pictures of the moon. However there is not a smooth transition from regular to maximum magnification. I am able to take pictures in low light and at night without flash in auto setting while hand holding camera. I have not been able to get as good pictures of birds in the auto setting as I did with my Kodak at 26X. Not able to get good pictures of birds in flight. I need to experiment more with all the extra settings. The auto setting is too slow. Looking forward to learning to use camera in wide options. The pictures I took with the Kodak are more artistic. The auto setting on the Nikon sometimes over corrects and interferes with the artistic effect. Love it, but has a learning curve. I like that I can move around and take multiple pictures handheld and then delete what isn't good right on camera. My favorite camera was the Sony Cybershot F707. Only 10X, but super sharp.

A great fixed lens camera with impressive zoom and the ability to take great pictures in point and click simplistic fashion if needed, the camera is just right for someone like me who travels a lot but doesn't want to be weighed down by heavier cameras and accompanying accessories. If you want to capture amazing photos on your trips whether people, places or landscape, and your mobile phone is just not cutting it, then this is the trusted companion you must have. A high capacity SD card, a neoprene sleeve for protection and an extra battery with charger is all you need to keep you going from dawn to dusk in any corner of the world without missing a stride.
