I love this camera. I picked it up before my European vacation and it was great. My previous cameras always had issues with taking blurry photos even though there wasn't much movement, but I had no problems with this one. The zoom is amazing too! I love the size too, and it easily fit in my crossbody bag. When there's nobody around to take your photo, the screen flip function works great for selfies...I refuse to buy selfie sticks. Overall, I highly recommend this camera. I added a couple of pictures so you can see for yourself the camera's quality.

Carried the Nikon for seventeen days in France and took a great amount of photos. I easily transferred photos to my phone and then uploaded to Facebook for family and friends to follow my trip. Photos were excellent and was asked by a few friends the name of the camera as they were impressed with the quality. Easy to take photos with one hand as the camera sits comfortably in my hand.

A great camera for vacationing. It is the perfect size. The zoom really comes in handy. The camera takes beautiful crisp pictures even in low light conditions without the use of the flash.

I bought this camera for a trip out west. My concern was size and capacity of pixels for a camera. I had been using a point-and-shoot Sony for the past couple of years and I knew with it's small zoom it would not measure up to my needs. I was stunned when I started using the camera. I could zoom further, take clearer (more detail) pictures than ever before. The pictures are simply stunning. It will make this trip last a lifetime with the crystal clear photos taken. Also, it has great connectivity when dumping photos from it and a very unique gps on it to capture the locations and direction of shots. At the price under $300, I would definitely purchase again!

Great camera for toting around when a big camera is just too much to carry. Takes excellent shots within limits. Long distance tends to oversharpen a little, but the macro feature is top notch. Saves room in my pack for quick trips and field workdays.

The camera comes with a wrist strap, so I added my own neck strap. The zoom is touchy - it has a bit of trouble focusing. I like the way the display panel spins around - it's easy to take selfies! It's great for downloading adding a few or all to a phone or computer. The app works well - but I had to read reviews on the app site to figure out how that works. I haven't set the GIS set up yet. But is a small good camera.

I purchased this camera for a trip to Alaska. Size, a good zoom lens and ease of use were all important to me. It met all of those requirements. It could be user error but my only negative review of the camera would be that it didn't allow me to do multiple photos or bursts when trying to catch wildlife in action.

I bought this specifically for concerts since you can't bring in an interchangeable lens camera. Success! It was good in low light. The zoom range gave me what I needed in one small package. 8x10 prints from this had good quality. I also like that I can wifi connect to my phone.

I bought this camera over a Sony Cyber-shot Hx90v 18.2-megapixel Digital Camera and am very happy with this camera. The Nikon has many features and is versatile with the tilting screen. The only down side is it is not quite pocket size. But is much lighter than my D810.

Meeting my expectations for outdoor photography. Have taken many great pictures of birds close by and far away as well as nature shots. A little bit complicated to use with the flash as you have to make sure it is up and that is working.

Great Camera • With a little learning curve

This is a step way up from the less expensive point and shoot Coolpix. The sale was made with the 30x zoom, and the swivel screen. Had a swivel display on an old Olympus DSLR - used it all the time. There is a learning curve on the Nikon Coolpix S9900 comparable to the earlier DSLR cameras. It is a bit more sophisticated than it appears. Once I figured a few things out, I became very, very pleased. The swivel display is so great! I used it at a conference last weekend. During the music, I could hold it up and view exactly what I was shooting. This isn't possible with a fixed display. I also am crazy about the fact the display won't get scratched because it swivels back so the glass isn't outside. The 30x zoom is for real. I've been shooting show jumping (English riding), and Rodeo. I need to understand how to set the camera for fast action, still learning. The 16mp is wonderful. I was going to return it the day after buying it. I gave it two weeks and fell in love with it. Unless you know more about cameras, you will need to be patient and learn how to use it. I was deciding between the Canon of equal price, and another Canon DSLR. I chose the small, purse size because I got tired of hauling my camera bag around, and my smart phone is at risk of theft by my students. I'm loving the ease of a higher quality pocket/purse size camera. Do yourself a favor and buy a little bag for it. I also purchased a monopod and card. Happy with everything.

Ok The Good: it takes beautiful pictures, it's easy to use and sync with my iPhone 6. The Bad: it takes a while to focus and the low light long distance photos were not viewable. The Ugly: The Flash would be a bit better if it wasn't located where I grip the camera. Overall pictures are amazing and that's why I purchased the camera.

I've only used it a couple of times now and have discovered things I like and don't like about it. I love that it is a small camera with a great zoom, which is what I was looking for. Most venues won't allow a professional camera for concerts an whatnot so I figured this would do the job. The view screen is really nice to be able to set and adjust as you need and I like that it can be turned in on itself so it doesn't get scratched while in a purse or bag. Now to the not so great part.... I've had a bunch of blurry photos, not sure if I'm doing something wrong or I've just been spoiled with my cannon dslr camera. When you get a photo that isn't blurry the picture quality is great. Would not suggest for taking action shots! Oh and the wifi feature is nice for uploading pictures to my iPad. Once I got it to work.... Had to go to the Nikon website to be able to pull it up in the App Store. Works nice and was fairly quick.
