Good camera only if shooting outdoor or indoor with natural light coming through. I'm not an expert in photography but very picky about my pictures and electronics. Need it a camera small but with high zoom. Took pics at my daughters dance rehearsal with stage lighting on the background took over 100 pics maybe I can share five total. I have played (adjusted) different settings,pic modes, apertures,shutters, ISO adjustments none of them helped. I used to have Nikon P100 worked good same environment for last few years. Next day i exchanged Nikon for Sony DSC-HX50 because we have another dance performance same lights on the stage amazing pictures after adjusting settings half the pictures are worth sharing. So it depends what you look for. Overall Nikon does good job but Sony won this battle.

This camera replaces my old coolpix 5400. It takes beautiful pictures out doors. The 30x optical zoom is awesome. The colors are vivid and true. The only thing I don't like about the camera is the poor pictures under low lighting in doors. Make sure you use the flash. Overall I am very happy with this camera. Get yourself this camera, you won't be disappointed.

Not being a tech junkie, I sought simply function and quality of the unit as an extremely portable camera (not sure I'll ever use ALL of its electronic capabilities!). The lens and picture quality are outstanding, telescoping range is dramatic, battery recharge systems (charger as well as html patch) are convenient and quick. This is my second Nikon camera (the other is much larger) and I have no disappointments with either one.

If you are a person who loves taking pictures, wants to produce high quality photos, but don't have the desire to spend loads of money on a camera and lenses that will end up sitting in a closet because you can't seem to fully grasp the concept...then this is your camera!!! It is far more advanced than the average point and shoot camera, there are many options and features to enhance your photo shooting experience, and as long as you take time to read the manual and experiment with the camera you will begin to realize that you're taking it with you EVERYWHERE you go! High dollar, top of the line, professional cameras are appealing to anyone who wants to produce quality photos but those cameras aren't toys and are made for serious professionals. This camera provides the intermediate photographer with a solid foundation to create astonishing art. I want to reiterate that you must take the time to read the manual, experiment with the settings and features in a variety of conditions, be patient and do not rush; if you do this you will find your comfort zone and before you know if you will be receiving compliments on your photos. It is compact and travels well. If you want to transfer photos using the wifi connect to smart device please read the following: 1)With your camera powered on press the wifi button. 2)On your smart device access your wifi settings and select the Nikon connection. 3)On your smart device open the Nikon Wireless Mobile Utility App (WMU) This process is confusing at first because you sit there waiting for it to connect, watching the screen on the camera and on the smart device, and nothing ever connects. Once you initiate the process on the camera, and choose the connection on the smart device, you do not have to wait for it to connect...it won't! While the two devices are trying to connect to one another you must open the WMU and that completes the connection and you will be able to transfer your photos.

This camera is easy to use. Great features for beginners. Pictures have an amazing quality.

This is a great outdoor camera with a very powerful zoom. Beware though, indoor pics are not the best. But for the price you can't go wrong. Also this is not a pocket camera, it won't fit in pants pocket, it's just a bit too big.

I am very pleased with this Nikon S9900.. Everything handy at the touch of a button.... EASY Setup... Excellent Quality!!!!!!!!!!

Easy to use and takes great pictures. If I could change anything it would be shutter speed for taking a burst of pictures.

I'm not one to read the direction book so I pulled it out and started shooting. Worked great super clear and light weight

Coolpix cameras are a great value camera perfect for the occasional photographer who wants more flexibility than a cell phone camera. This camera is easy to learn to use with a variety of settings and the pictures have great clarity. I like the new adjustable lens.

Good camera. Enjoy taking photos of action activities so sometimes come out blurry. Like small size for traveling.

I like many of the features of this camera and the ease of use. I want to learn more about aperture, program, manual settings and this is the perfect camera to master those settings. Once I feel that I have obtained a reasonable level of expertise, only then will I graduate to an SLR. Even then I will continue to carry this compact camera in my purse.

We bought it to substitute our old camera from Sony...great camera with nice quality...just have missed the panorama pictures way, time lapse, and multiples pictures...but you can live without these functions. :)
