I purchased this camera after reading several reviews. It was a gift for my granddaughter and she uses it almost every day. It is easy to use and takes great photos. She loves it.

This is a great camera for beginners who want pro quality pix. The DVD and other learning tools make the "break-in" period a breeze. After just a few "test shoots" people actually wanted to hire me to shoot their special events. If you're just starting out, buy this camera.

Purchased this camera as part of a package with bag and two lenses. Was easy to use right out of the box, but has enough features to keep my wife, who is into amateur photography, interested. It is substantially lighter than the D90 I use for work, but still seems sturdy.

Love the quality of the pics, light weigh and handy

The Nikon D3300 has been replaced by the 3400, but the 3300 is a good, basic starter camera that can be used by a novice or experienced photographer. Probably my biggest wish is that the viewing screen had a rotational capability (like the 5000 series has), which would better enable low and high angle shots, as well as protecting the screen from scratches during everyday handling. That said, the size and weight of this camera are great. I use it for camping and travel when I don't want to be weighed down by my D750, and when I don't want to risk damage to my baby. I'm not particularly fond of the cheaper DX lenses, but I have been using other lenses from my full-frame digital and film cameras with no issues and great results. The built-in flash is a bit anemic - only good for close range, but this is the case with most cameras. Plan on using a hot shoe or off-camera flash.

Love this camera; it's lightweight, compact, and easy to use. Has a very useful "guide" mode, filled with great beginner-friendly settings. Love this Nikon DSLR, and am very confident with my choice!

upgraded to this from a old d40. Love all th enew features, makes it real easy to use.

It was the best was a present for my wife. She is still learning about this still. Ifall goes well I am sure she will enjoy it. The batteries do not seem to last as long as it would seem it should. We will be watching this closely. There is a lot to learn with using the camera. It may have been helpful to have a class available allowing the my wife to learn the best ways to use it effectively.

This is an awesome camera, trust me. Very nice picture quality and pretty easy to set up. An advanced camera, no doubt, but still very nice.
