was intended as a gift have done my research on this camera for a while. good for anyone who wants to step up to higher quality pics than what on your phone and isnt sure if they want to get into the dlsr world. very simple point and shoot with more options than your phone or point and shoot. but soon you will want to upgrade to a better camera with more buttons and customization options. make sure you always buy quality lens. camera bodies are always replaceable lens last you forever.

This is my first DSLR and I thought I was going to be overwhelmed. Boy was I wrong. This thing is compact, easy to use and kind of powerful. Maybe not powerful for pros but for beginners it is pretty user friendly and takes great photos. Now I need to get out of the easy guide and auto, lol and work this thing manually like the pros do.

The wife loves taking pictures of the kids and this a great camera for it. Has simple enough settings that anyone can pick it up and use it and additional settings for the advanced photographer. Overall the camera feels great in hand and takes excellent photos. Now just need to plan for a 2nd lens!

This is a great camera for anyone who wants to upgrade from a point and shoot! It takes great quality photos and has many manual and automatic controls. I would recommend buying another lens other than the kit lens (the 35mm 1.8g is a great lens). This is the first dslr I have owned and it has taught me a lot about photography and really helped me improve. I look forward to upgrading to a full frame in the near future.

I am not much into photography field. Considering my low interest in photography I always used to buy point-n-shoot camera because of small size, easy to use. With evolution of smartphones I switched to smartphone photography. But photos captured by point and shoot or smartphones are limited to small screen view. They loose quality when printed on real paper or enlarged even by 1x. We decided to purchase SLR camera because of upcoming events in our family. I was really hesitant at first site after looking at camera and camera bag size. As and when we made progress taking nice quality and crispy images, I loved my D3300 camera. It is really easy to use, though user needs some training before using it. I manager to carry it around because now I am used to DSLR camera. The amount of discomfort carrying D3300 greatly reduces when I see image quality. Plus, Nikon is market leader in terms of camera body and lenses. I landed up purchasing additional prime lens 35mm/1.8g for my D3300 which made us even more happy. I would definitely say, D3300 changed my way of looking at photography.

After spending a long and strenuous amount of time researching about whats the best budget DSLR, i came into the conclusion that the Nikon D3300 is the right one, and i was not wrong. When i first received the camera, the first thing i did was to learn the camera and set the camera settings to my preference. This being the first time having a DSLR, it took a while for me to learn what aperture and shutter speed was. Still am learning to this day. The cameras picture quality is amazing for a beginner DSLR. The video's look amazing. The downside with the videos is the auto focus noise from the lenses, which is pretty loud at some points. The camera is very easy to carry around, easy to learn and a great way to start learning on how to use a DSLR.

This is our first digital SLR camera. We've used cheap digital cameras in the past. Decided on this model after reading some reviews and asking people who are heavy into photography what they use. All of them recommended a Nikon camera. Very happy with the camera and the picture quality. It has gotten one of my teenage daughters interested in photograph.

    Best Entry Level DSLR!

I have always been a Cannon owner, but the reviews, video demos and my chance to personally check out this model convinced me to break tradition and go with the D3300. Prior to this, I owned a ten year old pro-sumer level Cannon G5. Transitioning to the Nikon's D3300 DSLR was not only easy, but I found menu navigation very intuitive and the camera's "?" button was very helpful if I didn't know what a feature did. The vibration reducing "VR" technology on the included 18-55 lens is very, very helpful in low light shooting without a tripod...to a certain extent. There is nothing this feature can do if you're shooting long shutter speeds and exposure without a tripod. The optical viewfinder is a little small, but more than manageable to compose your shot. Where this camera excels is the amount of control you can exercise to manipulate, aperture, shutter speed, exposure and ISO in either P, S, A and especially in M mode. If you need to take quick "point and shoot" style photos on the fly, the D3300 does an excellent job of turning out quality photos that only professionals can tell that you shot in automatic. The lens options for upgrades is more than adequate for the entry level to intermediate photographer. I wish I could expand more on the other features, however I am still learning the basics, but the features I am currently using have been more than excellent and DEFINITELY exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for your first DSLR, you won't go wrong with the Nikon D3300!

    Super EASY camera, Amazing Photos!

I purchased two other dslr cameras before getting this one, one being the smallest one out there and one the step up from that one, and this one is hands down the BEST and EASIST one to use for me! I find it super easy to use, not intimidating at all, and it seems to take great photos of whatever I take a picture of! I was afraid to take pictures with the other two dslr cameras I had purchased, as they were too difficult for me to get a decent shot of anything in focus outside of using auto... lol Therefore they were returned. This camera was a breeze from the moment I took it out of the box! It feels great in my little hands, and it's almost as light as the lightest one out there! Mind you, I have only had this camera for a day, but the fact that I got great photos on the "aperture" mode the very first time I turned it on, made me fall in love ... Just think how great the pictures can get, if they are great without much knowledge of all of the manual modes and all of special effects that this camera can do ... I haven't used the wi fi adapter at this point, so I can't comment on that. I was torn between this camera and the d5300. I decided to go with the less expensive first, just because it was a bit lighter in my hand. I was worried about the focus points being significantly less, but it hasn't been a problem for me one day in! I even got the blurred background I love with the kit lens! You won't be disappointed with this camera as a beginner getting started with your first dslr!

This is a great camera. Got it right before a trip to the zoo and was very pleased with the pictures I got. Much better than point and shoot cameras and nicer than using a cell phone.
