Entry Level DSLR and you can tell

We had bought this camera to use on a vacation, but tested it prior to our trip and had a few issues/preferences that led us to returning it. The first day we were using the camera the software had locked up. We had to remove the battery and put it back in to get it to start working again. For the price point, it did take very good pictures, but it did feel and look a little too cheap. It was also a little bigger than what we had wanted. This was the first DSLR we had purchased, but we ended up getting a much smaller mirrorless camera.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The D3300 has fewer features than near-upscale models but even so, it has plenty and the quality of photos it produces is first rate for an entry level DSLR. My only criticism is its documentation is typical for a electronic device--a bit lame--but search on "D3300" on the Web to find loads of alternative info about the camera and all compatible lenses and accessories.

Great camera to start with

I wanted something the family could grow in using. I like using aperture prior to get that field of depth effect when focusing. Bundle came with two lenses and I've used them both. Looking to accessorize with filters, hood, and primary lens in the near future.

Nikon's best for the money.

Lots of info on the internet about using this camera helps with the learning curve. Download the reference manual from Nikon. It has lots of good information on the functions of the D3300.

You tell it what the setting/lighting conditions are - and it does the work for you - but you get to see what the settings on the camera are! I love the sports setting...5FPS is awesome!!! I kept on playing with it and wound up taking 180 pictures in a matter of minutes!!!
