Aside from getting this camera for a steal deal, I think it is also perfect for the beginner. It has all the features needed for someone who just started photography, and it is very easy to use. I am enjoying it, and loving it for my own photoshoot session.

overpriced. I got a sony 3 year ago with a lot more features and not much more in price and no bigger in size. i got this as a 'work' camera and it covers that purpose ok although it is a bit bulkier than my old camera. Works ok and can swap out lenses if needed. if you're going to get filters make sure you know what size is required before you buy. they are convenient and they do help. I relied on the sales person who didn't know.

Purchased for Christmas gift. The salesman was very helpful in discussing the options of various cameras available and we chose this one. We have been using it almost a year and have no complaints. It is easy to use and takes great pictures.

Gave this as a Christmas gift to my GF after doing some extensive research. The debate came down to Canon vs. Nikon. The D3400 Nikon is more intuitive, easier to use and is widely regarded to product higher quality images than the competitly priced entry level Canon.

I down loaded parts of the instruction manual and went through it playing with the camera. It was clear and easy to use. I also took the free Best Buy camera class. It was also helpful. The pictures are so much better than my former camera and my phone.

This is my second Nikon in the D series and the D3400 kicks my old beloved 3100 to the curb. Better picture quality in every way and better features. A great "starter" camera as long as you take the time to get to know it. Worth every penny!!!!!!

Bought this camera for my wife, who has never owned or used a "nice" camera before. She had very little difficulty in learning the basics, switching lenses, etc. She is already taking very nice pictures, and will hopefully take up photography as a much needed hobby.

Great buy. I should have done a little research first though. This is my first camera, and love it. Been borrowing a friends and now I finally squeezed the trigger and bought one. This camera has a cropped sensor and manual focus lenses. Had I’d done more or any research I would have discovered that. Anyway I still love it and would recommend it.
