I recently purchased this camera not too long ago. I was looking for my first ever “professional” camera to help me get into photography more. So far I love this camera! For the price range it is a bit more affordable compared to other DSLR. I use the kit lens and I am looking into getting a portrait lens. The photos are excellent quality!! You can record videos but this camera is more so for photos, if you want to do videos I would suggest something different. I gave this 4 stars because one thing I WISH this camera had is a flip screen (but that may just be my pickyness). You can easily access your photos on your laptop or phone to edit. It is easy to work. Best Buy offers classes that are FREE that teaches you the basis of photography and other important components. The class was very useful and helped me get a basis on my camera. You can also search Youtube for a full in depth tutorial. Overall definitely RECOMMEND!

This camera is amazing! In automatic mode I was able to get great shots, especially at Christmas time. I’m a beginner and am still learning the manual mode. I can’t wait to take more pics. People thought I got my holiday cards professionally taken. The price is great for a beginner. I was debating between this and the canon t7i but you can’t beat this camera for be price. Love the WiFi feature and have not had a problem getting pictures. Pretty simple and straight forward to use.

Bought this for my wife for Christmas. She's not a professional or even an extremely experienced amateur but she's getting great pictures under a variety of lighting conditions. She' also finding the camera easy to learn and use. The second lens (70-300mm) made the kit quite a bargain during the pre-Christmas sales period. While the "free" camera bag doesn't provide enough room for both lenses, it does hold the camera with either lens. The "free" memory card the kit included ensured that she could start taking pictures immediately without having to buy additional items.

I’m still learning because I’m an amateur but the quality is amazing. I shoot raw instead of jpeg bc I feel there is more detail in my photos . Raw makes it fuzzy some. This camera is way better than my iPhone 11 Pro Max cam . For the money and the quality you can’t go wrong. I also got the camera bag and tripod free with my order. I just couldn’t beat the total value. I still can’t get the moon just right yet but I will when I figure out how to slow the processing speeds. I’m comparison to mirror less this is a way better camera. It’s not as bulky with the lens as the mirror less. This fits perfect in one hand and is not heavy at all.

So far the camera is fantastic. Have yet to be disappointed with the quality of pictures it takes, it’s lightweight, easy to use, and the user manual teaches a lot of the ins and outs.

I purchased this as a gift for my son who lives with us. He has shown me the ease of use that he has working it and has also shown me pictures that he has taken.
We were outside one night when it was a bit overcast. We were unable to see any stars. We live in the country and have no problems seeing them generally.
He took out his camera and it picked up a bunch of stars in a beautiful picture that he took.
He is a beginner and absolutely loves it.
Pictures of flowers, birds, even our cats come out crystal clear and with vivid colors.

Simple to use with great quality photos. I highly recommend this camera for beginners as well. The extra lens is a bonus and you might as well purchase this as a two lens bundle since you might get bored with just one. Also the quick 'send to phone' via bluetooth is a plus because it will let you download them as a 2 megapixel which is small enough for social media then you can open the large files via SD card later. Worked great for a live view demo when hooked to the TV with HDMI also.

This has been a great camera. Got it as a introductory into these cameras and taking better pictures than my phone. Have been very happy, kit lenses are not too bad at all. I am still learning the menu and how to understand all the settings. Definitely has some easy point-and-shoot settings that simplify things. Still trying to get the hang of the manual settings. Wish the screen was able to move and rotate and a touch screen, and had wifi instead of just bluetooth. Only complaints I would have about it so far.

I purchased this product because I wanted to enhance my photography hobby. I wanted to find the right camera that would allow me to not only take nature photos but also action shots (sports), close up shots, and even portraits. This Nikon Camera was the perfect buy! Although it took me a few try’s to fully work each button on the camera, there are great user-friendly step by step videos that help amateurs take photos like professionals!!

I purchased this for a friend who wanted to capture the various wildlife in the swampy field behind their house. He has been using this with the 200-500 zoom I loaned him and can't stop raving about how great it is and the professional features of the camera. It was easy for he and his wife to learn and the pictures he has been able to take have been amazing - catching a Heron in flight and a turtle on a rock hundreds of feet away, just to mention a couple. And this is his first time using a DSLR.

I thought there was going to be a learning curve, I have been using a fixed lens point and shoot for years. I took the camera out and charged the battery. It took great pictures once I read the instructions for focusing. The only draw back is the manual is over 300 pages and only available by download as a PDF. You would not believe the quality of the pictures. I zoomed in as far as my computer would let me and the picture did not distort.

I recently purchased this camera because I had been wanting a quality, entry level camera with an affordable price. It is a nice camera, with a high quality feel. It is very easy to operate, and with the included lenses, it takes amazing pictures. The only downside is that the camera does not have any internal memory built-in, so it requires a memory card to function. Overall it is a great camera for the price. I also like the included free gift.

I highly recommend the Nikon D3500 as a beginner DSLR. I had a Nikon point and shoot and decided to upgrade. This Nikon D3500 was my choice to enter the world of serious photo taking. Through the Nikon website and many YouTube videos I am now able to use Manual Mode and get great results. There are preset modes for those unsure of the manual mode. I promise once you master the preset modes, you will be experimenting with with the ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed! A great product at a great price.
