I purchased this camera on sale as a Christmas present for my wife. I had read many, many reviews and for what my wife was going to be doing with her new camera i felt that the Nikon D3500 was perfectly suited. Appears i was right so far. She has made great progress with all the bells and whistles this camera has and now the camera doesnt leave her side. In a day and age where just about everyone's primary camera is their cell phone this camera performs so well that its worth bringing with you no matter where you go. I cannot speak to the actual feature of the camera because I don't normally use the camera but as a gift giver it appears this mid range starter camera was a perfect purchase for my wife who is completely new to photography.

Awesome photos!!! Took a little while to figure out how to use, as this is my first camera with so many options. Point and shoot does a great job!! Still learning how to use special effects.

I love the picture quality and ease of use. The kit lenses are smaller than what I have used on my d3200. Would definitely recommend this camera for someone wanting to get in to photography but doesn’t want to spend a ton.

Got this on sale as a gift. I was told that its easy to use and quality is amazing. The lenses work great and along with the easy to use camera, give the beginner photographer the tools needed to be a professional.

Perfect one for beginners like me. It’s easy to navigate through options and worth the price compared to its competitors. Haven’t tested Bluetooth based data transfer. Will comment further after using that feature

Haven't had an SLR style camera for many years it is nice to get back into the photography world. Still learning the camera - simple to use - takes great pictures. I am sure I will get many good years of photos from this camers.

This is an amazing camera. Quite complex, but easy to operate. I was using it within minutes of opening the package. Very good pictures.

It’s been a year, and almost a month that I bought this camera, and I love it! I’ve loved it since I got it, and I did not know how to use it very well but it’s fairly easy to use. And takes great pictures.

My wife loves using this camera to take pictures of birds. She doesn't have to get too close and then pictures come out beautiful. The ease and functionality of this camera are fantastic!

Bought this for my wife and she was able to start taking pictures almost immediately. If she wishes to advance her photography skills this camera will accomodate her for quite some time.

Purchased the Nikon D3500 to replace the D40 I have had for 25 years. I am enjoying learning the new features the D3500 has the D40 does not. Was looking at the D5500 but decided on the D3500 because it is simple to use. AND...my "go to lens" the 18-105 zoom works on it. One issue I have noticed is that I have a couple of Nikon lens from my D40 that will not work on the D3500 thus the 4-star score for ease of use. Would definitely recommend this product for anyone from beginner to advanced.

I am still learning, but so far this camera has been great. It takes excellent pictures and is easy to use. I still have a long way to go to get the most out of it, but I will get there.

This camera isn’t base level-it’s better! It is a great camera to learn the basics +! The price-point is affordable for those who need a good camera that takes beautiful pictures.

For a basic DSLR, this is a reasonably great camera. The settings are catered to beginners but also allow options for more experienced photographers to tinker with. Beginner settings are actually great and should suffice for those looking to get into photography as a hobby. Main difference from the prior model is there's no longer a microphone jack; although there's a built-in microphone, those looking to use this for film-making (which it does adequately but there's obviously cameras specifically for film-making) won't be able to plug in their own microphone as the prior model. All in all, a good kit to begin with.

Camera is fantastic. Comes with two lenses and a bag. Can’t pass that up. Takes great photos, has a great battery life too. Well worth the price to get started in advanced photography

My 15 year old daughter wanted a nice camera, she’s a beginner and this was simple for her to figure out how to use. She loves it and produces beautiful images with it.

Great for amateur photographers looking for something easy to use. Images are much better than smartphones - no comparison really. At this price point, I would definitely recommend.
