The D5300 is a replacement for my 6 year old D60 Nikon. I'm an amateur photographer but some of the shots have come out well for me. What I'm impressed with is the swivel LCD with the "live" view. On many occasions, I'm now able to do overhead shots and actually capture what I'm able to see, unlike the D60 where I'd take a few shots and pray one was framed nicely. I also had a chance to try some of the effect and the color-select is awesome as I've never had that capability before. Yes, 6 years is a long time between camera's so when you read this review, keep in mind the time between what I was used to in my D60, and the D5300 I have today. This is a camera worth purchasing an upgraded lens for (18-300mm f3.5-5.6 DX). The video capability is icing. I haven't used it yet but I think it'll be handy if the camera is already out and I need to capture something, otherwise, my Samsung S4 does the job pretty well. Overall, if you're like me and are still using a 6 year old DX format Nikon, I highly recommend this as an upgrade.

Completely satisfied with its functionality. We previously owned the 5100 & have always loved the quality of the photos that we have taken.

I bought the d5300 as an upgrade to my d5000. Just the megapixel increase makes this new body worth trading up. There are lots of professional reviews so not much more to add ... oh yea built in GPS!

Easy to use. Very pleased with this camera. Pictures are great and lots of neat features.

It's very easy to use and takes great photos on the auto settings. Still working on the advanced settings.

I started on the D3300 but wanted the Wi-fi and adjustable screen, I was pleasantly surprised at all the other additional settings and features this camera has over the D3300. When reading all the reviews I did not realize the additional control I would have on the quality of my photos...but it remains very easy to use.

One of my favorite features is the built in wifi because I can easily send the photos to my phone and share the pictures immediately after taking them. It also makes it easier to transfer them onto my computer. The rotating screen is also very helpful.

The WiFi build in is a great addition the this series.

Overall very happy with this purchase. I upgraded from a DSLR that was over 5 years old and the low light performance of this one is noticeably better. Takes crisp pictures and has great color as well.

Everything works flawlessly. Could not have asked for a better camera. Very happy with the WiFi capabilities.

I sold my D70 a few years ago. After hours and hours of research I chose the D5300 and couldn't be happier!

I recommend this camer to others just make sure to purchase the camer with a lens not just the body.

This is a great starter camera I've learned a lot from using it. If you are looking to get into photography this is a great camera to start on and also the flip out screen is great for filing yourself or for those hard to reach shots

I really love the features of this camera. it has enough features to grow into . The wi fi app is cool. The you tube videos also are informative

This lighter weight version of a high quality camera! I have used Nikon cameras for years and this is a wonderful camera!

It was a toss up between Nikon and Canon. I read a lot of reviews on other sites and decided the D5300 was the camera I wanted. I was not disappointed at all and the picture quality is fantastic.

Bought this camera for my wife to use for photography and she loves it! Every picture she take turns out great. Really awesome camera with come cool features!

There really is nothing not to like about the D5300 camera. The pictures are simply stunning and it is very versatile.
